Reports: Cam Reddish is gaining interest from LA Lakers, Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks

Cam Reddish could be on his way out of New York sooner rather than later if the latest reports on the Duke alum are true.

After a rocky start in the preseason, Reddish erupted for 22 points in 28 minutes in the team's Oct. 19 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. Since then, the young prospect hasn't played to his potential, resulting in coach Tom Thibodeau benching him for five of the team's last 10 games.

As a result, the New York Knicks are reportedly receiving interest from other teams regarding Reddish's trade availability. Specifically, the LA Lakers, Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks all find themselves in the Cam Reddish sweepstakes as they jockey to acquire the 23-year-old forward.

The Lakers, Heat and Bucks are among the teams to show interest in Cam Reddish this past year, per @IanBegley

NBA Central broke the news on Thursday after Reddish sat out the team's previous two games in December. The back-to-back DNPs came on the heels of a disappointing performance against the Dallas Mavericks, where Reddish racked up just one assist in nine minutes. During the game, the Knicks were blown out by 21 at home (121-100) as the Mavericks reigned 3-pointers down on them.

With one of the league's worst defenses, the Knicks (12-13) have been struggling to get over the hump. Although they've won two straight, the team hasn't performed up to expectations.

Below you can see highlights from Wednesday's 113-89 win over the Atlanta Hawks.

Potential landing spots for Cam Reddish

According to the report, it seems as though Reddish could land on either the Lakers, the Heat or the Bucks. If a deal is reached, it would be quite the shakeup for Reddish to go from a play-in caliber team like the Knicks to a perennial contender like the Bucks. Milwaukee (18-6) sits in second place in the Eastern Conference behind the Boston Celtics (21-5).

A trade to the Miami Heat (11-14) would also see Reddish remain in the East, however, the Heat currently boast a worse record than the Knicks while sitting in 10th place. With Miami struggling to figure things out and return to the top the Eastern Conference once again, Reddish could give them an offensive spark.

The same is true for the LA Lakers (10-14), who recently went on an 8-2 stretch. Although the team has managed to turn things around following their abysmal start to the season, they're still 13th in the West. Add onto that the Lakers are sitting in 22nd place for offensive efficiency, and it's no wonder they're eager to trade for Reddish.

Currently, despite only playing in 20 games this season, Reddish is averaging 8.4 points per game, an improvement over his numbers with the team last season. Throughout 15 games played with the Knicks last year, Reddish averaged just 6.1 ppg, a significant drop from the 11.9 he was averaging earlier in the year with the Hawks.

With the Lakers seemingly interested in making some big moves before the trade deadline, it will be interesting to see how things play out.
