The contract is reportedly worth more than $100 million.

Barkley has made more money on television than he did on the court during his Hall of Fame career. He is known for his outspoken comments and colorful analysis. He often does not hold back and speaks with an earnest honesty.

Turner Sports is now Warner Bros Discovery Sports.

The network has been pursuing both personalities for some time now, according to reports.

There are no reports of how it would affect Barkley’s basketball coverage. It would be unlikely for him to leave the desk at "Inside the NBA."

He is on "Inside the NBA" with Ernie Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal and Kenny Smith. The show has been on television since 1989.

Barkley is currently working as an analyst on college basketball during March Madness, a role he has adopted every March since Turner acquired the rights to the NCAA Tournament in 2011.

Turner, now Warner Bros Discovery, owns the networks of TBS, TNT and TruTV which air NCAA Tournament games. They share the rights with CBS.

King hosts CBS Mornings on weekdays. The program is a ratings tentpole and ad-generator for the network. There is no news on how her new role at CNN would affect her current duties at CBS.

Barkley recently appeared on CBS for an interview with the prestigious news magazine show "60 Minutes."

The show may fight in CNN’s 9 p.m. time slot, which is currently filled by a rotation of different shows hosted by different anchors. Some shows in this slot have been one-on-one celebrity interviews.

This may be a similar style of show to the proposed Barkley and King show.
