5 players who can replace Mesut Ozil at Arsenal

Regarded as one of the most talented footballers of his generation, Mesut Ozil joined Arsenal from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window of 2013 and is an integral part of the team since then.

The German scored 41 goals in 208 games and helped the Gunners win three FA Cup titles along with two FA Community Shields. He was the Premier League's Assist King during the 2015-16 season and also won the Arsenal Player of the Season accolade during the same season.

However, he is being linked with a move away from the Emirates in the recent weeks and the Gunners need to find a replacement if the former German international decides to leave the club.

#1 Isco

One of the best attacking-midfielders in the world right now, Isco will be a dream signing for Arsenal.

The Spaniard is a technically strong player who possesses excellent dribbling skills and wonderful vision. He can inject creativity in Arsenal's midfield and his ability to find space in tight situations will also help the Gunners break stubborn defences.

The 26-year-old played 167 games for the Los Blancos thus far, scoring 33 goals. Isco won the Golden Boy 2012 accolade and was also the part of FIFA FIFPro World XI second team 2017.

The former Malaga man started in just five of the opening 14 La Liga games for Real Madrid this season and could be on his way out of the club in January. However, he was being linked with a number of big clubs in the recent weeks and Arsenal needs to spend over the odds to secure the services of the talented midfielder.

#2 Julian Draxler

The German international was linked with a move to Arsenal on numerous occasions in the past but the move never materialized. However, with the former PSG manager, Unai Emery now in charge at the club, the Gunners have better odds of securing his signature.

The PSG man is an incredibly talented footballer who is happy to play on the wings or as the central attacking midfielder. His shooting and dribbling are his key attributes and is equally good with both feet.

He was a part of the Bundesliga Team of the Season 2013-14 and also won the Bundesliga Young Player of the Season accolade in the same season.

Draxler will be an excellent addition for Arsenal going forward but the Gunners will face competition from a number of big clubs to lure the 25-year-old to the Emirates.

#4 Nabil Fekir

Nabil Fekir is one of the best attackers in the Ligue 1 right now and is a perfect candidate to replace Mesut Ozil at Arsenal.

Fekir is known for his agility, quickness and a surprisingly strong build. He is established in the number 10 role but can also play up front or through both wings. He often shows his full ability when playing on the right, cutting inside and never hesitating to go for the goal. He likes running at the defenders and uses his pace and dribbling skills to get past them.

The Lyon academy graduate played 126 Ligue 1 games thus far in his career, scoring 47 times. Fekir was the UNFP Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year 2014–15 and was also included in the UNFP Ligue 1 Team of the Year on two different occasions.

Germany produced some of the finest talents in football and Kai Havertz is the latest in a long line of sensational youngsters coming out of Germany.

The product of the Bayer Leverkusen's famous youth academy, Havertz is the Die Werkself's youngest ever goalscorer and debutant. He is also the youngest ever player to make 50 appearances in the Bundesliga.

The 19-year-old is a naturally gifted player who often gets compared with Mesut Ozil. He is athletic, capable of picking a pass, and is able to get a goal or two.

He scored four goals in the league so far this season and assisted another three for his teammates. His impressive performances for the Leverkusen also caught the attention of Joachim Low, who handed him his first senior cap for Germany earlier this year.

#5 Suso

Liverpool fans must be kicking themselves after seeing the performances of Suso in the Serie A. The former Red is a revelation since his move to AC Mian in 2015, emerging as one of the star players in the Italian top division.

The Spanish international scored six goals last season and provided further 10 goals for his teammates. His brilliant performances for the club also caught the attention of Spain's manager, Julen Lopetegui and he handed him his first international cap during a friendly match against Russia in 2017.

Comfortable in playing as an attacking midfielder as well as a winger, Suso possesses a good left foot which makes him a threat from the dead ball situations. He is also known for his technical abilities and is capable of opening up tight games with his dribbling and vision.

However, the 25-year-old signed a new deal with Milan last season and the Gunners might have a tough time convincing the Italian team to sell their star players. Nevertheless. he is a massive talent and would be a great addition for the Gunners.
