He was unable to deal with Militao's long-range effort that eventually led to Benzema's goal and was then well beaten by Vinicius for the winner.

Gonzalo Montiel - 5.5/10

The ease with which Madrid bypassed Sevilla's midfield had him stretched and endured a tough evening. Was beaten by Asensio for a shot and mistimed his challenges, one of which got him booked.

Jules Kounde - 7/10

He couldn't place a shot on target in the first half when Acuna played him a nice cross but defensively Kounde was excellent, making five clearances.

Diego Carlos - 8/10

A solid performance from Carlos, who remained alert to make some crucial interceptions and ball-recoveries.

Marcos Acuna - 8/10

His inch-perfect cross found Mir perfectly inside the box and was their creator-in-chief with some excellent open-play crosses. Defensively, though, he left a lot to be desired.

Juan Jordan - 7/10

Casemiro's cynical challenge on him caused a bit of fracas early on and saw a testing shot from range fly high over the crossbar.

Fernando - 6.5/10

Good on the ball and strong in the air, Fernando was alright, though his lack of pace was an issue at times.

Ivan Rakitic - 6/10

The Croatian maestro had a poor game on the night, struggling to make any meaningful impact on or off the ball.

Lucas Ocampos - 6/10

Ocampos felt he should've won a penalty after Alaba brought him down inside the area in the first half but the referee waved all appeals away. Other than that, the winger didn't really threaten Madrid.

Rafa Mir - 7.5/10

He put Sevilla in front with a header but then saw an effort cleared off the line by Alaba in what was a clear chance for him to double his and Sevilla's tally on the night.

Alejandro Gomez - 7.5/10

He was totally anonymous in the first half but burst to life in the second. Pulled off his trademark move to cut inside once and win a free-kick in a central position.

Substitutes

Oscar Rodriguez - 6/10

He made one key pass which, unfortunately, came to nothing.

Thomas Delaney - 6/10

He rarely got on the ball during 19 minutes of action.

Oliver Torres - 6/10

Not enough time but still managed to make a clearance.

Munir El Haddadi - N/A

He came on to merely see the game off.

Oussama Idrissi - N/A

Idrissi came alongside Haddadi in a double substitution in stoppage-time but it was too little too late from Lopetegui.
