#4 Mourinho has Madrid offer

Spanish football expert Graham Hunter believes that there is a possibility for Jose Mourinho to return to Real Madrid. The former Manchester United manager has been linked as a replacement for Solari at the end of the season.

And Hunter thinks that now would be a better time for the Portuguese to take over the reins at the Santiago Bernabeu than it was back in 2010. His reasoning is that Barcelona’s current team isn’t as strong as the one under Pep Guardiola.

"If you want to be calculating, as Jose Mourinho certainly is, the dominant Barcelona he faced as Real Madrid manager last time has diminished somewhat with no Xavi, no Iniesta, no Puyol, no Victor Valdes,” Hunter said.

"Pique, Busquets and Messi are now five years older than when Mourinho left so therefore the attractiveness to Mourinho is.

Hunter then went on to claim that the relationship between Florentino Perez and Jose Mourinho is good, which is why there is an attractiveness towards Mourinho – something that might not have existed had someone else had been the president of Real Madrid.

"The attractiveness to Florentino Perez, who would love someone to get after a team in transition in Barcelona, you can see all of that.

"The manager Jose Mourinho proved to be in his final year at Chelsea and his last couple of years at United, I would think that'd be less attractive to Real Madrid without Florentino Perez as the president - but the two men see eye to eye.”

And while Pochettino remains the first choice for Madrid, the chance of Mourinho coming is also there.

"While there would be contenders, and I think personally Pochettino, was Florentino Perez be able to secure him, the prospect of Jose Mourinho taking over at Real Madrid in the summer is not one to be discarded. There is that possibility."

#3 Piatek could be sold

Piatek To play for Madrid?

The injury crisis at Real Madrid seems to have pushed the Galacticos to have a look at Krzysztof Piatek. The Genoa star has been in superb form so far this season as he is behind only Cristiano Ronaldo in the race for the Serie A Golden Boot.

And now, the director general of Genoa, Giorgio Perinetti, has confirmed that the club are awaiting offers for their star players. However, there has been no official offers for Piatek as clubs have only shown interest. He also added that he could be sold if a big offer comes in.

“We are waiting for offers for Piatek. Right now we had no official ones, only interested clubs. AC Milan know we’d like to keep the player until June but we’ll evaluate all the offers,” he said.

“We don’t want to sell him but we could be uncertain if AC Milan make a big offer. We can’t wait until the last day, whoever wants him must be quick”.

#2 Solari not deciding on transfers

Not one to decide on transfers

Real Madrid manager Santiago Solari has reiterated that the club’s transfer policy is out of his jurisdiction. The Galacticos have been struggling with injuries and even without considering them, they still had a huge Cristiano Ronaldo-sized void left to fill.

As a result, the Merengues have been linked with a few players but Solari maintained that it is not possible for him to make comments on the club’s transfer strategy while also adding that Real Madrid don’t have a proper number 9 apart from Karim Benzema.

"I always say it is not my position to explain the policy of signings. The squad we have is marvellous, with a lot of young players, a lot of experienced players and they are all 100 per cent committed,” he said.

"They are all different players, not necessarily specialist 'number nines'. The specialist we have is Karim Benzema and he is injured."

#1 Isco and Piatek

Not good times for the former Malaga star

Isco’s situation at Real Madrid has reached a point where it has become very apparent that Santiago Solari doesn’t endorse him at all. The Argentine tactician didn’t play Isco against Betis and opted for the likes of youngsters Federico Valverde, Vinicius and Brahim Diaz over him.

As a result, there have been rumours linking the Spaniard out of the club. However, according to ESPN sources, Manchester City are not among the clubs interested in signing the former Malaga star.

Meanwhile, it seems as though Piatek to Madrid might just happen as Don Balon claim that the Galacticos have sealed the deal to bring the Barcelona target to the Santiago Bernabeu for €60 million. Piatek has, so far, scored 13 goals in Serie A for Genoa.
