Giant Titan from Attack on Titan anime is now in Fortnite, despite DMCA woes

Fortnite Creative 2.0 was recently released, and it allows players to create unique never-before-seen maps. The update has brought numerous new features to the game, even letting creators import their custom 3D models, animations, and more. Shortly after the mode was released, many talented creators published amazing maps, utilizing these features to the fullest.

It was recently revealed that Epic Games will be banning accounts for using copyrighted materials on their maps. However, a creator named Eudyn has gone ahead and published a map containing a Titan from Attack on Titan, the popular anime that is set to collaborate with Epic Games officially this season. Unfortunately, this map will likely be taken down soon.

With the release of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2, Epic Games added Eren Yeager to the Battle Pass. The Attack on Titan character is a fan-favorite and will be unlockable later in the season. There is a good chance that more anime items will be released in the Item Shop around that time.

However, some players don't want to wait any longer, which has prompted them to incorporate anime characters into their Creative maps. The video below shows a Titan from the anime added as a custom 3D model.

The map code is 8007-4578-5635, and the easiest way to access it is by opening the game mode selection menu and going to the Island Code tab. However, considering how strict Epic Games is, it won't be surprising if the map is taken down very soon.

Adding custom characters to Fortnite Creative 2.0 is very simple. Most of the characters are free and can be easily imported to any custom-made map. Unfortunately, adding copyright-protected characters is not allowed and could result in serious consequences.

Here is what Epic Games posted on the official Fortnite Creative 2.0 blog:

"Those who create violating content in UEFN - even if they never intend to publish it in Fortnite - or share violating content on social media, will face content takedowns and enforcement actions, up to and including permanent account bans."

It's important to note that not even Epic Games owns the rights for many characters who've been released in Fortnite over the years. As a result, they cannot be used without violating the owner's property rights. There is a good chance that Epic will never change this rule.

One should also note that the limitation affects both private and public maps. This means that creators can be banned even if they don't publish their maps and release them to the public.
