5 best Tuner cars for drifting in GTA Online (May 2023)

Tuner Cars were added to Grand Theft Auto (GTA) Online with the Los Santos Tuners update in July 2021. As of now, there are a total of 19 Tuner Cars in the game, and most of them can add significant value to one's collection. While they are highly regarded for their affordability and performance, drifting is another of Tuner Cars' abilities.

Drifting has become one of the most popular free-mode activities in the game. Since players can now equip Low Grip Tires to any car, all of them can somewhat drift. That said, some are just better at this craft than others. Here are the five best Tuner Cars for drifting in GTA Online.

1) Obey Tailgater S

The Obey Tailgater S in GTA Online is a variant of Michael De Santa's car from the game's story mode. Its body is long and wide, highly inspired by the Audi RS3 Sedan, and features a Rear-Wheel-Drive train that aids in drifting. Additionally, weighing 1,340 KG helps this vehicle maintain balance and good traction, keeping it under control mid-drift.

To get this car, players can either pay its full price of $1,495,000 or unlock its Trade Price of $1,121,250. For a relatively cheap investment, they will get a decently performing car with a top speed of 115.75 mph or 186.28 km/h.

2) Karin Futo GTX

Karin Futo GTX is among the best drift cars in GTA Online. It is relatively lightweight, and while its base tires' traction is average at best, replacing them with Low Grip Tires from the LS Car Meet can help it slide even better. Futo GTX's compact design is a nod to the real-life Toyota Sprinter Trueno AE86, and it can hit a top speed of 119.75 mph or 192.72 km/h.

It is also one of the few GTA Online cars with anime liveries in 2023. Players can acquire Karin Futo GTX from the Southern San Andreas Super Autos website for $1,590,000 or at a discounted Trade Price of $1,192,500.

3) Karin Sultan RS Classic

Karin Sultan RS Classic falls under the Sports Cars category in the game. Its top speed of 117.50 mph or 189.10 km/h can be bested by many of its peers, but it remains a great choice for drifting. Despite the absence of a Rear-Wheel-Drive train, Sultan RS Classic's weight combined with Low Grip Tires makes for a great combination.

It can sometimes oversteer while drifting; however, players won't have to worry about it that much. The Karin Sultan RS Classic can be purchased for $1,789,000 or a Trade Price of $1,341,750.

4) Vapid Dominator ASP

The Vapid Dominator ASP is a Muscle Tuner Car in GTA Online, based on the Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R's (New Edge) design in real-life. This vehicle has all the essentials for drifting, like a Rear-Wheel-Drive train, good handling, and balance. It can also achieve a decent top speed of 119.00 mph or 191.51 km/h.

Furthermore, custom components like spoilers, transmission upgrades, Low Grip Tires, and more can be attached to the Dominator ASP to create a good drift build. Those interested must pay $1,775,000 or a Trade Price of $1,331,250 to buy it.

5) Pfister Comet S2

The Pfister Comet S2 is one of the fastest Tuner Cars in GTA Online, capable of hitting a great top speed of 123.00 mph or 197.95 km/h. It is also a surprisingly good choice for drifting in the game. Its weight of 1,550 KG maintains balance and traction on the front wheels, which prevents it from spinning out of control.

Moreover, it also packs a Rear-Wheel-Drive train which is a vital element for drifting. The Pfister Comet S2 is an iteration of the Porsche 992 and can be bought for $1,878,000 or a Trade Price of $1,408,500.
