Jamahal Hill wants Jon Jones by his side in hypothetical bar fight

Having the pick of any fighter in history to be by your side in a bar fight may be tough, but it didn't take Jamahal Hill long to name Jon Jones when questioned on the hypothetical situation.

'Sweet Dreams' has been a problem for the light heavyweight division since arriving from Dana White's Contender Series and finds himself knocking on the door of the top five. Just six fights into his professional MMA career, the knockout artist found himself debuting in the octagon, a place he has since thrived in.

While partaking in a recent interview with Mype Sports' YouTube channel, Jamahal Hill was asked who he'd want by his side if a bar fight broke out, and was given the choice to pick anyone in the history of combat. It didn't take the 205-pounder too long to call out Jon Jones' name:

"Jon Jones [is the fighter in all of history that I would want by my side in a bar fight]. He's a smart dude, he actually assessed what's going on in the situation... And he's capable."

Despite having recurring problems outside of the octagon, Jones is the man many believe to be the greatest of all time in the sport. Although some may not agree, his resume speaks for itself.

Jamahal Hill is on the right track to challenge for the light heavyweight title and could do so with one or two more wins under the UFC banner. With uncertainty still surrounding the division following Jiri Prochazka's step down as champion, an impressive performance in his next outing could put him right into title contention.

The 31-year-old could kickstart his push towards the title when he headlines a UFC Fight Night card against the tough Anthony Smith at the UFC Apex on March 11, 2023.

Is Jon Jones returning to the octagon?

While nothing has been made official as of yet, rumors are circulating that Jon Jones is set to make his heavyweight debut and instantly compete for gold sometime next year.

As teased by Francis Ngannou's coach, Eric Nicksick, 'The Predator' could be making his return to the cage after a year away from competition and putting his title on the line on March 4.
