Why is Belal Muhammad not getting a UFC title shot? Kendra Lust speculates reason

Adult film star Kendra Lust recently weighed in on Belal Muhammad's long-awaited welterweight title shot.

An avid combat sports enthusiast, Lust hosts a podcast with UFC middleweight Julian Marquez and was also recently spotted with Conor McGregor and Dana White amongst other company A-listers.

UFC commentator Jon Anik's brother Jason Anik recently called for Muhammad to get the next welterweight title shot, citing 'Remember the Name's nine-fight unbeaten streak:

"What else does @bullyb170 need to do? Countless championship opportunities have been afforded to fighters with resumes that pale in comparison to Belal’s."

Kendra Lust then speculated on the reasons behind the delay on Belal Muhammad's road to the title. While Lust considers Muhammad deserving of a title shot, she wonders if he can sell enough tickets.

The adult star cited the example of Henry Cejudo, who according to her, used his 'King of Cringe' persona to attain stardom from a position similar to Muhammad's. Lust commented on Anik's post:

"Crazy he hasn’t yet .. but it about who is selling ppv’s and tickets. I think Cejudo had similar issues but then used social media become King of cringe and it worked for him."

What's next for Belal Muhammad?

Leon Edwards defended his welterweight title with an emphatic majority decision win over Kamaru Usman at UFC 286 on Saturday. Colby Covington, who was the surprise backup fighter for the event, was announced as the next title contender by Dana White in the post-fight presser.

Many, including UFC commentator Jon Anik, have openly shared their sympathies with Belal Muhammad for the title snub. White also shared his plans to reward Muhammad's nine-fight unbeaten streak with a matchup against one of the fastest-surging contenders in the division: Shavkat Rakhmonov. The UFC president said:

“What’s next for Belal? Rakhmonov — we’re working on it"

Undefeated in 17 pro outings, Rakhmonov is an absolute beast looking to establish himself among the welterweight elites. 'Nomad' is coming off a third-round submission win over Geoff Neal that tied him with Serghei Pavlovich for the longest active finish streak (5) in the UFC.

While Belal Muhammad will likely have to pass one more test before making a UFC gold bid, Colby Covington can't be too sure about his shot either. Edwards clearly dismissed a potential clash against 'Chaos' in favor of a grudge match against Jorge Masvidal.

Leon Edwards on Colby Covington getting the next title shot: “I don’t know how that makes sense" #UFC286

"I’m the king now. I’ve earned my way, so I feel like I should decide who’s next.”
