Colby Covington reacts to Ali Abdelaziz’s UK travel ban - ‘Kick them while they’re down’

Colby Covington, who is well-known for his brash and outspoken personality, has once again made headlines by sharing his thoughts on Ali Abdelaziz's travel ban. As a former UFC welterweight title challenger, Covington is no stranger to controversy and is often in the news for his trash-talking antics.

In recent times, the no. 2-ranked welterweight has been vocal about his displeasure towards Kamaru Usman's manager, Ali Abdelaziz, who was not in attendance at last week's UFC 286 event in London. Now, Covington has weighed in on the situation, further fueling the ongoing feud between him and Abdelaziz.

In a recent interview, Colby Covington has once again found a way to create controversy by commenting on Ali Abdelaziz's travel ban in the UK. Abdelaziz, a prominent MMA manager, is currently unable to travel outside of the United States without notifying authorities due to being dropped as an NYPD informant in the past.

While reacting to his own video, the former interim title challenger wrote on Twitter:

"Kick them while they’re down. They’re easier to reach."

Colby Covington's comments are likely to further inflame tensions between him and Abdelaziz. While the details surrounding the travel ban are complex, 'Chaos' seems to be suggesting that it is a result of Abdelaziz's alleged past misconduct.

Colby Covington argues that American wrestling is far superior to Dagestani wrestling

In a recent interview with MyMMANews, Colby Covington shared his thoughts on the rise of Dagestani wrestling in MMA and how it compares to American wrestling. Covington, who is known for his wrestling background, provided some interesting insights into why Dagestani wrestlers like Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev have been so successful in the UFC.

According to 'Chaos', the reason why Dagestani wrestling has been effective is that it hasn't been matched up against high-level American wrestlers. He explained that American wrestling is more focused on takedowns and controlling the opponent on the ground, whereas Dagestani wrestling emphasizes ground-and-pound and submission grappling.

The no.2-ranked UFC welterweight stated:

"It's been right time, right place. They've been able to fight guys that didn't have wrestling backgrounds, you know. If they fought a guy that was a USA-level wrestler like Olympic level wrestler, they're gonna get smoked, it's not even gonna be competitive.
"American wrestling is much better, much more revolutionizing. Just a better style of wrestling that works in the UFC. You know, these guys have just been able to capitalize. Right time, right place, with the right matchups."
