Popular MMA journalist Brett Okamoto reported that 'The Diamond' is suffering from a staph infection in his foot. Reports suggested that his condition was worsening and had not been responding to antibiotics.

Okamoto tweeted:

"Some context on Dustin Poirier’s (@DustinPoirier) IG posts about being hospitalized … told me it’s staph, but he’s not responding to antibiotics over the last 24 hours. Undergoing further blood work now, hopefully get some answers today."

This was not the end of their feud, as the two fighters went one step further, with McGregor challenging Poirier to a fourth fight:

"Ye I'm in Amderdam jacked like [Jean-Claude] van damn. You weren't just hurt pal. You were scared hurt don't forget it. I'm coming back to put you in a box. Full of it. I'm sending you off this earth. Permanent. Stay waiting for the road house as well pal you and the missus will love it."

Given the animosity between the two fighters and the fact that their most recent fight ended in a doctor's stoppage due to the Irishman's leg injury, a McGregor vs. Poirier 4 cannot be ruled out at this time. McGregor has since stated that he will be back in the USADA testing pool in February.

I am clear for testing in February. I will complete my two tests per USADA and we are booking a fight.
