Paddy Pimblett uses Colby Covington's example to explain why he'd never put up an act

UFC star Paddy Pimblett recently shared his thoughts on the inauthenticity displayed by some fighters in order to gain relevance.

In a recent interview with Brett Okamoto of ESPN MMA, 'The Baddy' was asked to list out the current "stars" in the sport. Responding to this, Pimblett named Khamzat Chimaev, Sean O'Malley, Conor McGregor, and himself as the biggest names in the sport.

The Liverpudlian said:

"Obviously in our sport, there's a few big draws. Khamzat [Chimaev], Sean O'Malley, meself [myself], Conor [McGregor]. I mean they are like the main ones."

Further into the interview, Pimblett was asked if he ever tried to pretend to maintain his "superstar" image. The lightweight vehemently denied doing any such thing, claiming that he hated "fake people".

"I would hate meself [myself] if I tried... I hate fake people. I don't like it. I mean, as I have said before, I don't like Colby Covington because of the act he puts on. I don't like people who put acts on. It's just not me. It's annoying."

Daniel Cormier has a piece of advice for Paddy Pimblett ahead of Jared Gordon fight

Paddy Pimblett is all set to make his PPV debut as he fights Jared Gordon at UFC 282, scheduled for December 10 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

With 'The Baddy' gaining more attention as a fighter, UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier believes he has "got to win" his upcoming fight in order to stay relevant in the sport and live up to the expectations the Liverpudlian has garnered.

Appearing on a recent edition of his podcast, Cormier stated:

"He has got to keep winning. Got to, because it can all go away if you don't win, and he's got the toughest guy that he's ever faced in the octagon this weekend in Jared Gordon... Times are really good for 'Paddy the Baddy'. Everybody wants a piece of him, but you gotta win."
