Dillashaw won the vast majority of his fights in professional MMA, getting his hand raised 17 times during his long career. The American is also a two-time UFC bantamweight champion and is well-respected in the sport barring his suspension due to EPO usage.

As mentioned, his most recent loss came in his final MMA bout against Sterling. However, the 36-year-old also lost bouts against John Dodson, Raphael Assuncao, Dominick Cruz, and Henry Cejudo. The Dodson defeat came during TUF season 14 Finale.

TJ Dillashaw has decided to retire. The UFC was notified around a week and a half ago.

TJ Dillashaw is only 36 years old and was still competitive in the UFC, recently beating top-contender Cory Sandhagen via a split decision back in 2021.

However, the former UFC champion is likely to need a long recovery period, with Dillashaw undergoing shoulder surgery after losing at UFC 280: Oliveira vs. Makhachev in his most recent outing.

Suppose this really is the final time Dillashaw will step into the octagon. In that case, the 36-year-old could look back on an incredible career that included a legendary rivalry against Cody Garbrandt and two UFC title victories.

How many UFC wins via stoppage does TJ Dillashaw have?

TJ Dillashaw had a very successful career in the UFC, with the American winning 13 times in the organization. Eight of these wins came via stoppage, which is impressive given the opposition Dillashaw faced during his long career.

The 36-year-old managed to stop Cody Garbrandt twice inside the distance, with his other stoppage wins coming against Renan Barao (x2), Joe Soto, Hugo Viana, Issei Tamura, and Vaughan Lee.

The 36-year-old had an incredible career inside the octagon, but suffered a major setback when he tested positive for EPO in 2019. He subsequently received a two-year ban from USADA, which tainted his otherwise shining legacy in the sport of MMA.
