Which UFC fighter besides Ryan Spann has a Superman tattoo on his chest?

Over the course of its 30-year history, the UFC has witnessed several fighters with unique tattoos, hairstyles, and personas. MMA athletes who compete in the octagon are known for their love of artistry, not just concerning martial arts but also in the realm of body art.

Speaking of which, one of the tattoos that has stood out as of late is a Superman tattoo sported by UFC light heavyweight contender Ryan Spann. The 31-year-old KO artist has a Superman tattoo on his torso; his chest, to be specific.

Similarly, another UFC fighter who happens to sport a Superman tattoo on his chest is featherweight competitor Steven Peterson. As reported by The Dallas Morning News a few years ago, Peterson revealed that he got the tattoo back when he was 18 years of age.

Steven Peterson recalled getting a tattoo on his chest, as people often told him that he walked around as though he had an 'S' on his chest. In simple terms, people consistently suggested that he acted as though he were Superman, owing to his fearlessness and penchant for constantly getting into fights.

The California-born MMA fighter, who fights out of Texas, harked back to his days as a youth and stated:

"I would get in fights, keep my chin up in the air and keep talking smack." He added, "I was a hard-headed kid and really didn't care where I ended up... I had no direction. Didn't have any goals. People asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, and I had no answer."

After a few more run-ins with the law, Steven Peterson managed to turn his life around by focusing his energy on martial arts. He eventually worked his way up to the UFC -- competing at a Dana White's Contender Series event in 2017 and making his main roster debut in 2018.

The Superman tattoo-sporting Steven Peterson returns to action at UFC San Antonio

Ryan Spann's most recent fight witnessed him suffer a first-round submission defeat against Nikita Krylov in a 215-pound catchweight bout earlier this month. The light heavyweight would be looking to return to the win column in his next octagon outing. Meanwhile, his fellow Superman tattoo-sporting MMA stalwart Steven Peterson will return to the octagon this Saturday.

Steven Peterson missed the 146-pound featherweight non-title bout weight in his last fight against Julian Erosa in February 2022. Peterson ended up losing their 149-pound catchweight bout via split decision.

Akin to Ryan Spann, 'Ocho' too would be aiming to get back to his winning ways. The 32-year-old Peterson is scheduled to face Lucas Alexander in a featherweight matchup at the UFC San Antonio event on March 25th, 2023.
