How many people attended XFL Week 5 games? Exploring attendance numbers for the league's fifth week

You might be excused if you didn't follow all that happened in the XFL as the season hit its halfway mark because a lot was going on in the NFL last week.

On Saturday night, the St. Louis Battlehawks played in front of another huge crowd. When 35,868 fans showed up to watch the club's Week 5 game against the D.C. Defenders in the Dome at America's Center, the team broke the XFL attendance record it established a week earlier.

In front of those 35,868 spectators, the D.C. Defenders defeated the Battlehawks 28-20 to improve to 5-0.

Last Thursday, the Seattle Sea Dragons defeated the Houston Roughnecks 21–14. Only 9,231 fans showed up. This was fewer than the previous two games. In week 2, they had 10,386 supporters. The following week, they reached 15,103.

Last weekend's game between the Vegas Vipers and the Orlando Guardians featured the two XFL teams that were still winless.

There were 67 total points scored, but in the end, it came down to the last few seconds. Ultimately, the Vipers prevailed 35 to 32 in front of opposing supporters, earning them all the points. There were 6,008 spectators in attendance.

The San Antonio Brahmas returned to the Alamodome in Week 5, following three games played on the road. In a 12-10 setback against rivals the Arlington Renegades on Sunday, the Brahmas suffered their third consecutive defeat this season. In front of the San Antonio supporters, it was their second defeat.

Thirteen thousand two hundred seventy-four (13,274) spectators attended the game, making it the second most-watched game in Week 5 of the XFL.

Around 24,000 people filled the Alamodome for the XFL season's opening game in San Antonio, although attendance for the follow-up game was lower.

Which team has been the best in the XFL so far?

As they are the only club with a 5-0 record thus far in the XFL, the D.C. Defenders are in full swing. Their performances as a team, led alternately by D'Eriq King and Jordan Ta'amu, have played a significant role in their progress.

The Defenders are 5-0 and the best team in the XFL

The Defenders have accumulated 870 yards and 11 TDs on the ground in their first five outings. The closest competitors are the Houston Roughnecks with six TDs and the Seattle Sea Dragons with 466 yards, which helps put the Defenders' running supremacy into perspective. The Defenders also have 188 rushing attempts, 81 higher than any other side.

With their superior rushing abilities, The Defenders have been called "one trick ponies," but it doesn't seem like the opposing teams will end their dominance very soon.
