Mike Florio believes Matt LaFleur will find it tough to end the Aaron Rodgers era - "He knows he's defusing a bomb here"

Aaron Rodgers exited the game last week against the Philadelphia Eagles after getting injured, and Jordan Love made an instant impact. The backup quarterback looked quite confident and made some good plays in the absence of Rodgers. Although the Packers still lost the game, Love was able to show everyone that he was ready to play.

Despite Jordan Love's heroics against the Philadelphia Eagles, Rodgers is expected to be back in Week 13 to face the Chicago Bears. NFL analyst Mike Florio believes the situation in Green Bay is quite tricky, and head coach Matt LaFleur is under a lot of pressure. Here's what Mike Florio said about Aaron Rodgers and Matt LaFleur on Pro Football Talk:

"He (LaFleur) knows he is defusing a bomb here potentially, or at least trying not to accidentally spill gasoline on the embers of a fire that could rage at any moment."

He continued:

"Because, look, the contract that the Packers gave to Aaron Rodgers gives him a ton of power. And they were able to nudge Brett Farve away when they were ready to do it. They are going to have a very delicate time getting Rogers out if they want to pivot to Jordan love."

Florio added:

"Like at what point? Do you just pull the plug on this? That's the real question. Yeah. And the Packers know, it's not their decision. Well, they've already surrendered it to Aaron Rodgers"

Aaron Rodgers is unlikely to be forced out of the starting quarterback position by anyone. As a result, the Green Bay Packers will have to play a waiting game with him.

Until Rodgers agrees to sit for the rest of the season, it is highly unlikely that Jordan Love will play. As stated by Florio, Rodgers holds a lot of weight in the Packers organization, and the franchise can't do anything about it now.

History could be repeated in Green Bay as Rodgers is facing a similar situation to what he faced when he became the starting quarterback of the Packers. He took the place of Brett Favre and since then has become the face of this franchise.

Rodgers knows Jordan Love well. With the way he played against the Eagles, it might be possible that the veteran quarterback is scared of losing his job to his understudy. Rarely do you see history repeating itself in such a strikingly similar way, but that appears to be what is happening in Green Bay.

What happens next remains to be seen, but Jordan Love has certainly made things very interesting with his cameo against the Eagles. Keep an eye on the build-up to the Packers' Week 13 bout with the Chicago Bears, as there are a lot of interesting questions that are yet to be answered.
