Former NFL quarterback Boomer Esiason calls Taylor Heinicke the reason for Commanders' sudden success

Former NFL quarterback Boomer Esiason was recently interviewed on the Locked on Commanders podcast. He spoke about the impact that Taylor Heinicke has on the team's success. He stated the respect that the team has for him as a leader is a huge part of the team's success, saying:

"His teammates respect him, admire him, and want to play for him, and I can see that."

Esiason also said that Commanders head coach Ron Rivera can see how much the Commanders offense has changed under the quarterback:

Despite his success in 2020 and 2021, it was an injury to Carson Wentz this season that eventually led to him getting another opportunity as a starter.
