Could the Chicago Bears be on former Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott's radar?

NFL Rumors: Ezekiel Elliott to Bears? Hall of Famer wants franchise to move for ex-Cowboys star

The Dallas Cowboys shocked many fans last week when they decided to release running back Ezekiel Elliott. Due to injury, the running back's production has seen a major decrease in the past few seasons. With running back Tony Pollard emerging as a force in the backfield, Elliott and his lucrative contract were the odd man out.

So, where will the former Ohio State standout land? Former Chicago Bears linebacker Mike Singletary told USA Today Sports that he would love it if the running back made his way to the windy city:

"I just see that Ezekiel Elliott got released from the Cowboys. Man, I would love to see the Bears get Ezekiel Elliott. I would, I think that would be absolutely amazing if they were able to get their hands on him. And now you got two Buckeyes in the backfield."
Former Chicago Bears linebacker, Mike Singletary, wants to see Ezekiel Elliott become a Chicago Bear.

Singletary said that he believes that Elliott could have a bounce-back season with the Bears along side another former Ohio State Buckeye in quarterback Justin Fields.

The Chicago Bears have already traded away their first overall selection as they look to build around their young quarterback. Perhaps a veteran running back looking to revitalize his career could be the next move for an up-and-coming Bears team.

Could an AFC team be interested in RB Ezekiel Elliott?

The Buffalo Bills currently have about $9 million in salary cap space to make any free agency deals. And according to general manager Brandon Beane, there could still be more moves to make. Could signing running back Ezekiel Elliott be one of those moves?

Adding Zeke may not be popular to #Bills fans, but he can still be really good in short yardage situations.

And you would have 3 different styles at RB with Cook, Hines and Elliot.

He is just 27 years old and maybe a change of scenery would be beneficial.

The running back is sure to be aware that he won't be receiving another lucrative deal this time around. So, it's safe to say that he will likely want to do everything and anything to get back on the field.

The Bills are looking for a way to get over their playoff hump after multiple attempts at trying to win the AFC title and a trip to the Super Bowl. Giving quarterback Josh Allen another offensive weapon and perhaps giving an opposing defense someone else to focus on would be a huge help.

He would join young running backs James Cook and Nyheim Hines, who showed promise at points during the 2022 NFL season. Whether or not the former Dallas Cowboys standout can return to the type of production he once had, it remains to be seen.
