NFL Injuries: List of players out for 2023-2024 season feat. Joe Burrow, Deshaun Watson
The 2023 NFL season, like every year, has seen plenty of players already suffering season-ending injuries in the first month. It's part of the game, even if sometimes it's brutal to see.
Check out a list of players who have already been declared out for the remainder of the season with injuries:
NFL players out for the 2023 season with injuries
#1. Aaron Rodgers - New York Jets
The Jets quarterback suffered a torn Achilles just four plays into the 2023 season and is not expected to return despite his effort to play this season. The injury is serious - he had surgery to repair his Achilles.
#2. JK Dobbins - Baltimore Ravens
Just like Rodgers, the Baltimore Ravens running back suffered a torn Achilles in the first game of the season. It's a difficult situation for Dobbins, who has shown plenty of promise in his NFL career but has never been able to stay healthy for a full season.
#3. Jack Conklin - Cleveland Browns
The Browns lost their star tackle right at the beginning of the season, as Conklin suffered a significant knee injury that will see him miss the 2023 season entirely.
#1. Nick Chubb - Cleveland Browns
#2. Avonte Maddox - Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles slot cornerback suffered a torn pec during a game against the Minnesota Vikings and will only return in 2023.
#3. C. J. Gardner-Johnson - Detroit Lions
The NFL leader in interceptions in the previous season also suffered a torn pec in Week 2. Gardner-Johnson and Maddox were teammates with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022.
#1. Mike Williams - Los Angeles Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver tore his ACL playing against the Minnesota Vikings.
#2. Trevon Diggs - Dallas Cowboys
A non-contact injury for Diggs during practice ended his season prematurely. The Cowboys lost the subsequent game to the Arizona Cardinals.
#1. Tre'Davious White - Buffalo Bills
Just like Rodgers and Dobbins, the Bills cornerback tore his Achilles and is now to miss the remainder of the 2023 season.
The Patriots star rookie was leading the race to win the Defensive Rookie of the Year award but has suffered a serious shoulder injury. He will likely miss the rest of the season, and the Patriots recently acquired JC Jackson from the Chargers to fill his void.
#1. Emmanuel Moseley - Detroit Lions
In his season debut for the Lions, cornerback Emmanuel Moseley tore his right ACL. This is another devasting injury for the player as it was his first game after recovering from an ACL injury that he sustained in his left leg last year.
#2. Alijah Vera-Tucker - New York Jets
Alijah Vera-Tucker is out for the season due to a torn Achilles. He joins Aaron Rodgers as the second Jets player this season to suffer the same injury and will be heavily missed by the team.
#1. Anthony Richardson - Colts
The fourth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft will undergo a season-ending shoulder injury. The team will play with Gardner Minshew as their starting quarterback for the rest of the campaign. This is a huge blow for the Colts, as Richardson looked pretty good and would have made great progress over the course of the season had he stayed healthy.
#1. Cole Holcomb: Steelers
Steelers linebacker Cole Holcomb suffered a scary knee injury and will be sidelined for the rest of the season. A possible comeback next year is on the cards for him but the injury was quite similar to Nick Chubb's.
#2. Cam Akers: Vikings
Vikings running back Cam Akers has suffered another Achilles injury and is ruled out for the rest of the season. This is a devastating blow for him as he suffered the same injury last year.
#3. Daniel Jones - Giants
New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones suffered an ACL injury in Week 9 against the Las Vegas Raiders. He is likely to miss the same amount of time Kyler Murray did as he got hurt around the same time last year.
#1. Deshaun Watson - Browns
Browns QB Deshaun Watson will be undergoing a season-ending surgery for his broken bone on his throwing shoulder. An MRI revealed a displaced fracture to his glenoid. As of now, Watson's 2023 season is over.
#2. Joe Burrows - Bengals
Burrow, leading the Bengals through the season, injured his wrist during the team's loss vs the Baltimore Ravens. Questionable at first, Burrow was ruled out for the season with a torn logament in his wrist.
