NFL Trade Rumors: Browns and Patriots favorites to land Broncos superstar

The Denver Broncos are likely to trade Jerry Jeudy and the Cleveland Browns and New England Patriots have emerged as favorites for the wide receiver.

Coming off an all-around horrendous season for the Broncos offense, the team needs to change things up. They also need to start trying to recoup some of the assets they've sent out for both Russell Wilson and Sean Payton.

That means a trade for Jeudy or someone else is very likely. Per Dov Kleiman, Cleveland and New England appear to be the most serious, but the asking price for Denver remains high.

Update: Execs believe that it's more likely the #Broncos will trade WR Jerry Jeudy closer to the Draft than right now if they don't lower their high asking price, per @Jeff_Legwold

The #Patriots and #Browns are considered to be the "most interested" in acquiring a receiver.

"Sources said that the Broncos have been resolute about getting a 1st or a 2nd-round pick in any trade that involves Jerry Jeudy, according to ESPN. Denver needs to decide by May 1 if they'll pick up Jeudy's 5th-year option."

Denver is operating on a bit of a timeline, which potentially diminishes their leverage in any trade situation.

Why the Browns and Patriots need Jerry Jeudy

While other teams may get into the mix, especially if the Denver Broncos lower their asking price, the Browns and Patriots have emerged as strong contenders to make a deal for Jerry Jeudy.

Why is that? Both teams are in pretty high need of an elite playmaker on offense. Every year, the Patriots have a strong defense, but they need to put weapons around young quarterback Mac Jones.

Could the Patriots try to get Jerry Jeudy to help Mac Jones?

Jakobi Meyers, Nelson Agholor and Jonnu Smith are gone, so the talent on offense is much lower. They need Jeudy.

The Browns also need Jeudy. They invested an unforeseen amount of money and assets in Deshaun Watson and he didn't look all that good last year when he returned.

They've added Elijah Moore to go with David Njoku and Amari Cooper, but a wideout trio of Jeudy, Cooper and Moore would make life very easy for Watson. It would also make it easier to swallow his contract if he can play well. Jeudy will help him do that.
