Which NFL team has the most Thanksgiving Day wins?

The NFL on Thanksgiving Day is a tradition for fans across the USA. Particularly the Detroit Lions, Dallas Cowboys and their fan bases.

For as long as we can all remember, the Lions and Cowboys have played on Thanksgiving. The game usually features the Lions against an NFC North rival or the Cowboys battling it out against an NFC East competitor. The Detroit Lions started the NFL Thanksgiving trend by hosting a match in 1934 against the Chicago Bears.

Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys' records on Thanksgiving Day

Detroit are 37-43-2 on Thanksgiving after losing to the Buffalo Bills in the 2022 season. Despite their losing record, they still have more wins than any other franchise on Thanksgiving. The only team that comes close to the Detroit Lions for wins are the Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys are 32-21-1 for the holiday, so are still some way behind. The Cowboys won their 2022 Thanksgiving Day game against the New York Giants. As the Lions have now lost six Thanksgiving games in a row, Dallas could surpass them for Turkey Day wins in the not-too-distant future.
