Sourav Ganguly to play for Mohammedan Sporting in their Platinum Jubilee Celebration Cup

Sourav Ganguly will be playing for Mohammedan Sporting at the club’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations Cup where legendary English sides Sheffield FC will also be playing. Sourav Ganguly, will be wearing the no.99 jersey when he will play for Mohammedan Sporting Club in the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations Cup.

Tournament Fixtures are also being announced. The tournament is being organised for the 75 years completion of Mohammedan’s first CFL(Calcutta Football League) victory.

Participating clubs have been allowed to take five players from other IFA-Affiliated clubs on loan which includes two foreigners.

Worlds first ever club

Sheffield FC will reach in Kolkata on Thursday morning after which they are expected to organize a press conference. They will also inaugurate a clinic at the Mohammedan Sporting Club’s Ground.

After that Sheffield FC will be flying to Guwahati on Sunday where they will play Assam XI and then to Shillong, where they will end their tour with a match against the Shillong Lajong FC.

Sheffield FC, which is the world’s first ever football club was established more than 150 years from now, will be looking to make some new fans in India and in a way, will be improving their marketing here too. Sheffield FC had earlier completed their tie up with the Tata Football Academy(TFA).
