Adorable video of Serena Williams and Olympia's "mommy and daughter time" on tennis court inspires affectionate reaction from Chanda Rubin

Serena Williams and daughter Olympia never fail to entertain tennis fans with their endearing updates on social media.

A resurfaced video of the iconic mother-daughter duo training on the tennis court recently caught the eye of the American legend’s fans. In the video from 2021, Serena Williams can be seen imparting her father Richard’s teachings and showing the then three-year-old Olympia the basics of swinging a tennis racquet.

“You know what Grandpa taught me? So, first thing you do is – turn – back – reach – hand – follow through. That’s very complicated for a three-year-old but you might get it,” Serena Williams says in the video.

Former player and Tennis Channel commentator Chanda Rubin shared her reaction to the adorable video as well. She noted that, having a similarly aged daughter of her own, she can relate to Williams.

“It’s incredible. And I have one who is about this age and literally they are doing some of the same things. You know, you try to figure out where to step -- ‘Okay, step with the other foot. Okay, don’t jump! Stay down.’ It’s so good. Love it. And it’s about having fun and that mommy and daughter time,” Chanda Rubin said.

"Olympia doesn't actually like to play tennis too much," Serena Willliams recently revealed on the CBS show 'Person to Person with Norah O'Donnell.

The former player stated that her daughter’s disinterest was disappointing, considering the fact that the five-year-old has got the skills for it.

"That's a little disappointing for me, but she's actually really good at it. So we are trying to figure out a way to get her to play a little bit," Williams said.

The 41-year-old further confessed that she had hatched a plot to raise Olympia’s interest in the sport and that it involved bringing the extroverted youngster's peers together for practice.

"Olympia loves being social...She loves being around friends, she loves going to school," Williams disclosed. "Maybe I can push her into tennis by getting other kids to have a group lesson, I think that's what I'm gonna do...I really want her to play at least a little bit, because she's actually really good at it."
