"Assaulting women is a literal joke to these men" - Tennis fans disgusted by Thanasi Kokkinakis' casual comments about Nick Kyrgios' court appearance
Nick Kyrgios pleaded guilty to assaulting his ex-girlfriend on Friday during a court hearing in Canberra.
The Australian was subjected to two years of imprisonment for shoving his former partner. While the accused claimed dismissal of all charges citing his history of mental issues, the court rejected the plea. However, Kyrgios eventually avoided a criminal conviction as the magistrate discerned the assault as low-level and unintentional.
Amidst the incident, the World No. 20 shared a few random pictures on social media on Monday to reflect on his present life. In one of the slides, Kyrgios can be seen dressed up in a coat and walking on his crunches from the Canberra court after his hearing.
His compatriot Thanasi Kokkinakis casually joked about the outfit as he wrote:
"first pic kills me," in the comments.
In light of this comment, tennis fans were left angered by Kokkinakis as they felt it was disgusting for the player to have joked about such things amidst the assault case.
One fan felt that assaulting women was a "literal joke" to the duo of Kokkinakis and Kyrgios as they wrote:

Sorry to the ppl who like him but he’s always given me ‘those’ vibes so I’m very unsurprised. Just reminds me of the fu*kwit boys in high school. This is disgusting," their tweet read.
The World No. 46 can "go to hell," conveyed another user as they contemplated the player's comments.

Another fan expressed that they were "disappointed" with Kokkinakis' comments, but were "not surprised" by the same.
