The 36th edition of the Open Sud de France will be held in Montpellier from February 6-12, 2023. It is one of five tournaments taking place across the ATP and WTA tours in a busy week of tennis.

Holger Rune and Jannik Sinner are the top two seeds here. Both have started the new season on a strong note, making it to the fourth round and the quarterfinals, respectively, of the Australian Open.

Borna Coric and Roberto Bautista Agut are another couple of notable names in the fray and are seeded third and fourth. With a runner-up finish at the Adelaide International 2 and a fourth-round showing at the Australian Open, the Spaniard is in pretty good form at the moment. Coric, on the other hand, lost in the first round of the season's first Grand Slam.

The top four seeds have received a bye into the second round and won't be in action until Wednesday. Defending champion Alexander Bublik is back as well. He defeated Alexander Zverev to clinch his maiden ATP title here last year and will be gunning to make it two in a row.

Richard Gasquet, a four-time champion in Montpellier, is in the mix too. The Frenchman will be eager to make local fans happy by hoisting yet another trophy here. Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, Aslan Karatsev and Maxime Cressy are some of the other noteworthy names in the draw.

The tournament did suffer a blow with the withdrawals of Grigor Dimitrov and Pablo Carreno Busta, but the draw is still competitive enough to be of interest to fans.
