They built a statue for Dustin Brown but all Jonathan Quick gets is shipped off to COLUMBUS.

Jonathan Quick, i can’t believe this
Is this Jonathan Quick trade the worst treatment of a player since the Marc-Andre Fleury trade?

Jonathan Quick: LA Kings Legend

Even as a Ducks fan, I think Quick deserved better treatment than to be traded just like that #GoKingsGo twitter.com/Rich_Hammond/s…
The thing about Jonathan Quick is, he wasn’t even supposed to be the guy. Jonathan Bernier was supposed to be the guy. But Quick was a force of nature. It’s like he willed himself to be the No. 1, and then nothing was the same for the Kings.
Jonathan Quick should have retired as a King

Damn Jonathan Quick got traded? Business is business.. can’t hold on to the past forever but man the Cup runs were so fun. This current team can do something special here.
Man... I am genuinely sad that the Kings traded Jonathan Quick. He wasn't the reason I discovered I loved watching hockey, but he was the reason I got to finally got to love and support a team from my home town. Thanks for everything, Quickie, especially the Cups! #JQ32 #LAKings

@LAKingsfan1000 @BurnerDewey I was looking at a bunch of Jonathan Quick kings pictures on Google images just now, made me sad

Fans weren't the only ones unhappy, as the goaltender himself is said to be very displeased.

To say Jonathan Quick is unhappy with the trade, I'm told, is "an understatement."

The entire #LAKings team was a bit down after the game, a win, and you could understandably see it in Anze Kopitar's face after a 4-goal night.

Tough deal, Kings trading a franchise legend.

Why the Los Angeles Kings traded Jonathan Quick

Jonathan Quick has not performed well this season, and this played a major part in the trade. In 31 games, Quick has achieved a save percentage of .876 while conceding 3.5 goals per game. There has also been a considerable reduction in game time and LA have only won 11 of his 27 starts.

Quick is in the final campaign of a 10-year deal worth $5.8 million per season. As such, it was better to get something for the 37-year-old while possible.

LA have also opted to strengthen their defense with the acquisition of defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov and goaltender Joonas Korpisalo. The former Columbus Blue Jackets duo have had decent seasons so far.

Gavrikov has played 56 games and has three goals and seven assists to his credit. Meanwhile, Korpisalo has played 28 games and concedes around three goals per game at a save percentage of over .910. Thus, both players add value to the King's defense and are likely to play a crucial role in the games to come.

The Kings are placed second in the Eastern Conference Pacific Division with 76 points. They have had a decent season offensively, but their defense has let them down by conceding around 3.4.

It will be interesting to see if LA's new signings start the next game or if they will be eased into the lineup. The Kings are scheduled to play the Montreal Canadiens this Thursday, March 2.
