En route to his WWE Title defense against Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 23, both Cena and HBK actually started teaming up with each other and it wasn't too long before the two men captured the WWE Tag Team Championships from the Rated RKO in spectacular fashion.

At 'Mania 23, for the very first time, a set of WWE Tag Team Champions wrestled each other in the main event of The Grandest Stage of Them All, as Michaels and Cena put together an instant classic.

However, the next night on Raw, both men went on to lose their tag titles to the Hardy Boyz, marking the end of Cena's run as double champion as well.
