3 interesting observations from RAW Reunion (July 22, 2019)

This week's special edition of WWE Monday Night RAW (22nd July 2019) saw a lot of contrasting moments. From the 24/7 championship changing hands amongst several legends to Stone Cold Steve Austin cutting an unscripted promo towards the end of the show, last night's episode had it all.

RAW Reunion was a feel-good event throughout most of its entirety. WWE programming broke away from its normal format for one night only, and we witnessed some entertaining crossovers between the past and the present. It would be unfair to judge this show alongside standard RAW episodes that we have witnessed this year.

#3 Why Stone Cold Steve Austin ended the show in the most simple and satisfying manner

Most of us were expecting Stone Cold Steve Austin to raise hell by delivering a couple of stunners to current heels or longtime foes.

Oddly enough, we witnessed a RAW Reunion without any twists and turns. Sometimes, it is best to keep things simple, and Stone Cold Steve Austin's unscripted promo ended the show on a feel-good note.

Reports indicated that some segments were scrapped at the last minute due to medical clearance issues. Steve Austin's promo could have been a by-product of numerous changes made to the show's lineup as well.

I would be lying if I said that several fans didn't expect any more since it would have been cool to see Kevin Owens and Stone Cold Steve Austin delivering stunners to Shane McMahon and his clique.

But when you think about it, maybe that was the point of the show all along. A simple reunion took over this week's normal programming to deliver an adequate dose of nostalgia that fans yearn for from time-to-time.

#2 Why Bray Wyatt attacked Mick Foley out of nowhere

Last week, Bray Wyatt initiated a terrifying attack on Finn Balor which also put the entire roster on notice as well.

Last night though, Bray Wyatt put Mick Foley down using the legend's mandible claw. This took social media by storm a few moments later.

Perhaps one of the main reasons why this was booked to happen on the show is because 'The Fiend' needs to be showcased in front of a mainstream audience, and RAW Reunion is one show where you would expect a larger viewing audience to witness Wyatt's unexpected attack.

On the other hand, Finn Balor has already requested some time off WWE's gruelling schedule, and his feud with Bray Wyatt might be indirectly put on hold as a result.

Whatever the case may be, it looks like The Fiend has already broadened the scope for his victims, and the Hardcore Legend Mick Foley just received a taste of his own medicine.

#1 The 24/7 title-legends fiasco was entertaining in parts throughout the episode

Pat Patterson, Gerald Brisco, Kelly Kelly, Candice Michelle, Alundra Blayze and "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase were some of the WWE alumni names who got an opportunity to win the 24/7 championship during RAW Reunion.

Of course, R-Truth and Drake Maverick also had a quick back-and-forth at the same time, but the championship eventually ended in R-Truth's hands yet again.

As mentioned in another article, the 24/7 title could also be won by legends and female superstars from any existing WWE brand. The booking team did a great job to ensure that they checked both boxes on the same night.

Sure, there were some goof-ups throughout the night, but anything related to the 24/7 title scenario was silly and fun to watch during RAW Reunion.

For what it's worth, some old-timers even made history by establishing some of the longest gaps between holding championship gold in WWE.
