3 possible things that could happen following the return of Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns graced the WWE ring after four months as he returned to Raw. The Big Dog opened the Monday Night Raw in Atlanta where he had an emotional ovation from the WWE Universe. Roman was advertised to provide an update on his battle with leukemia, and he announced that the disease is in remission.

Reigns had to relinquish the Universal title in October when he announced his temporary departure to fight leukemia. The Big Dog won the title at Summerslam where he pinned Brock Lesnar.

Since Reigns got lovely greetings from the fans in the arena, he shook hands and hugged many fans. He gave a big hug to former WCW champion David Arquette and his mother, who were standing in the ringside. As a matter of fact, Roman Reigns displayed the sign of recovery when he entered the ring to fight. Reigns and Rollins rescued Dean Ambrose from a 4-on-1 beat down, and he speared Drew McIntyre.

We saw a teaser of Shield reunion this week when Reigns and Rollins came out to rescue Dean Ambrose who was assaulted by Elias, Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley, and Drew McIntyre. Though it was not a proper reunion of the Shield, it could happen in the future. With Fastlane around the corner, the Shield could return to take on Corbin, McIntyre, and Lashley.

The Shield is one of the most popular stables in WWE history. The trio made their debuts in 2012 when they made a statement. The Shield's last reunion was last year in August when they reunited to prevent Braun Strowman from cashing in his Money In the Bank contract on Reigns who was the Universal champion.

Considering Ambrose is set to leave the company after WrestleMania 35, it could be the last Shield reunion in a long time. With Lesnar not likely to have a match at Fastlane, the Shield could reunite to have a tag team match in Cleveland.

#2 Roman Reigns could get added to the Universal championship match at WrestleMania 35

Reigns and Lesnar had a long rivalry

Roman Reigns never lost the Universal title as he renounced the title due to leukemia. Reigns had a long rivalry with Brock Lesnar, but he failed to defeat Lesnar on various occasions. However, he managed to grab the most prestigious title of the red brand at Summerslam where he slayed the Beast Incarnate. Hence, Reigns could be chasing the title he never lost.

Seth Rollins is the original challenger of the Universal title after he won the men's Royal Rumble match last month. The build-up has been spectacular for the match after Lesnar dismantled Seth Rollins on the Raw after Royal Rumble. Though Lesnar has not appeared on Raw regularly, Lesnar's advocate Paul Heyman has kept the feud interesting with his fierce promos.

The Universal championship match could be spectacular if Reigns becomes part of the match. In fact, Reigns, Rollins, and Lesnar headlined WrestleMania 31 when Rollins won the WWE title after cashing in the Money in the Bank contract. The Big Dog might win back the title he never lost at Metlife Stadium.

Will we see this dream match?

There is no denying that Reigns is expected to play a massive role at the Grandest Stage of Them All following his return to the company. Since the Universal championship match is already booked for the Show of Shows, he could be set to face another opponent in New Jersey.

Reigns previously competed for the Universal title at WrestleMania 34 when he lost to Lesnar. Therefore, a fresh rivalry could be captivating for the WWE Universe, and the Rock could be a great choice to face the Big Dog.

With Batista making his WWE return this week, the Rock could return for a historic bout. Presently, the Rock is an elite Hollywood movie star, but he is one of the biggest superstars in WWE history who has immense popularity. The Great One won the tag team titles five times, Intercontinental title twice and the WWE title ten times.

The Rock and Roman Reigns are cousins, and the two superstars shared ring in the past. The Rock's last WWE run was in 2013 when he mainevented WrestleMania 29 with John Cena. With the Raw women's championship match is expected to mainevent WrestleMania 35, it will be interesting to see if Reigns get an opportunity to close the show if he locks horns with the Rock.
