Ronda has surpassed the absolute best in a span of a year

3 Reasons Ronda Rousey is the greatest Women's champion in WWE history

Last year at the Royal Rumble, the WWE Universe watched in awe as the former UFC champion and The Baddest Women on the Planet, Ronda Rousey, made her long-anticipated WWE debut. Pointing to the WrestleMania sign, she immediately made her intentions clear.

Rinda went on to have a thunderous debut in arguably the best match on the WrestleMania 34 card when she teamed up with Kurt Angle and took on Stephanie and Triple H in a mixed tag match.

It didn't take long for Ronda to win the Women's title, and the rest, as they say, is history. Let's take a look at three reasons why in only a span of one year, Ronda Rousey has become the greatest Women's champion in WWE history.

#3. Can actually wrestle better than most of the women on the roster

When Ronda debuted on the roster, the general consensus was that she would have a hard time adjusting to the WWE's style of in-ring work, which was way different than what she had done inside the octagon in UFC.

She proved the detractors wrong in her very first match at WrestleMania when she put on an exciting and intriguing performance against the power couple of The Game and Stephanie. What followed was a string of excellent matches on the Raw roster including the PPVs.

She quickly captured the Women's championship and helped women's wrestling reach levels that were unheard of before her title reign. This also led to the first ever Women's exclusive PPV called WWE Evolution, where she battled against Nikki Bella and successfully defended the gold.

#2. Can get a good match out of almost anyone

Ronda Rousey has wrestled a string of women ever since she debuted in WWE. No matter who she has faced, the match always delivered.

Ronda has had outings with the likes of Nia Jax and Nikki Bella, who aren't exactly known for their in-ring skills. It didn't matter though, as Rousey was able to get good matches out of both the women.

On the other hand, Ronda has managed to garner praise from the WWE Universe for her in-ring prowess that she has shown in matches against the likes of Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair.

#1. The sole reason why Women are main-eventing a WrestleMania

Until last year, the idea of women competing in the main event of WrestleMania was bound to get laughed at. Now, after what some deem as being the greatest year in women's wrestling history, we are finally getting three women in the main event of the grandest stage of them all!

Ronda was a popular mainstream name before she decided to join the WWE. She destroyed women left and right in the UFC, and garnered the reputation of being the baddest women on the planet.

Ronda's presence on the women's roster has actually made it possible for WWE to take the risk of having women compete in the headline match of Mania. And as the show of shows is getting closer, the risk seems to be paying off as fans are completely behind this storyline. No other match on the card is getting the kind of coverage the Women's title triple threat match is getting.

Some could say that this has happened because of Becky's rise as a top star, but it's not a secret that without Ronda, WWE wouldn't have even thought of giving women a chance to headline a WrestleMania.
