Will a heel Daniel Bryan help the blue brand?

3 Reasons why Daniel Bryan winning the WWE Championship is best for SmackDown Live

Daniel Bryan has been showing his darker side for a couple of weeks now. After being announced the co-captain of Team SmackDown for Survivor Series 2018, and assaulting Samoa Joe after his match with Jeff Hardy, Bryan continued to take down The Miz and then Shane McMahon.

After such actions, it was hard to ignore that his heel turn was around the corner, and it came relatively quickly as soon as he smelt the gold.

After an extended match with AJ Styles for the WWE Championship right before Survivor Series, Bryan delivered a low blow to the champion to win the championship.

He then continued to assault Styles and kicked him in the face and head several times leaving him completely knocked down.

As the new WWE Champion, the SmackDown brand sees itself filled with heels holding the top prizes on the brand. The Bar, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Becky Lynch are all excelling as heels, and Daniel Bryan will now join the trio as a heel at the top.

Even though fans did not seem happy with Bryan’s win, as they went quite the moment he pinned Styles and then assaulted him, there are a few reasons why his heel turn and championship victory is actually good for the long run.

#3 Changes the Survivor Series card

Jeff Hardy gets a chance to represent Team SmackDown

While many may disagree with this, the Survivor Series card did need a change which has come around thanks to Bryan’s championship win.

Styles was going to walk in as a champion for the third time in a row at Survivor Series and face Brock Lesnar for the second consecutive time at the event. Both the scenarios have now changed, and we may not even see AJ Styles at the event this year.

Even though Styles is one of the best wrestlers in the WWE, his constant reign at the top was hurting other superstars who deserved equal standings.

With Bryan now facing Brock Lesnar at the event, we will see a new angle and a new pairing on television that can go either way.

Both men are heels, with Bryan turning on Tuesday Night, and there is a chance that he will use his dirty tactics to score a win for the blue brand on Sunday at Survivor Series by shocking The Beast Incarnate.

Jeff Hardy, too, gets a chance to become a part of Team SmackDown, and though many will argue that Randy Orton deserved to take the spot, we will at least see one more top Superstar make it to the list for the event.

#2 Gives the faces a chance

More superstars will get to feud for the championship

A heel turn for Daniel Bryan and his championship win will be a breath of fresh air for the faces on the blue brand. AJ Styles was a face for the entire time he was the WWE Champion, and mostly had long feuds with the heels of the blue brand.

While the faces also got chances to win the title, it was the heels who were put into extended feuds with the former champion and the buildup was based on several weeks. Shinsuke Nakamura and Samoa Joe were two of the men who got a chance to win the title on several occasions as heels.

The faces of the blue brand, which include Jeff Hardy, Rusev, and Rey Mysterio, will all get a chance to get into extended feuds with the WWE Champion since the champion is a heel. The pairings can work off well, as Bryan has always shone brighter as a champion.

AJ Styles will most probably be the first one to get a few matches against Bryan to win back his championship, once the dust settles other faces of the brand will finally have a new championship to fight for as the United States Championship is barely ever defended by the heel Nakamura.

#1 Sets up The Miz vs Daniel Bryan

A match between the two men for the WWE Championship will be epic!

Miz vs Bryan was a rivalry that deserved much more than it got from the WWE, and there is little doubt that this rivalry will be revisited sooner than later again by SmackDown.

The Miz has teased a face turn since he was kayfabe injured at Crown Jewel. He has been less mischievous, and more contained since which signals towards a slow face turn for one of the best heels in the WWE.

If The Miz is to turn in the next few weeks, there are chances of him getting into an elaborated feud with Daniel Bryan once again as tensions still exist between the two men.

It could all boil down to a WrestleMania match between the two superstars for the WWE Championship. A great match between the two men at The Grandest Stage of Them All is what the fans have been looking forward to for some time, and it may be what they’ll get at WrestleMania 35.
