It has been around two weeks since WWE announced a special edition of Monday Night Raw, dubbing it as Raw Reunion. The episode will feature the who's who of WWE legends and Hall of Famers, with names like Stone Cold Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels, and Mark Henry appearing on the show.

Conflicting reports have been coming in regarding the possible appearance of a certain popular Superstar, who hasn't been seen on WWE TV ever since he came back at WrestleMania 35 to a huge ovation. At this point, we don't know whether John Cena will make an appearance on Raw Reunion, or not.

Cena has been a mainstay on Monday Night Raw for years on end, but his other interests have deemed it impossible for him to make regular appearances for WWE at this point.

At this point, several WWE legends and Hall of Famers have been scheduled to appear on the Raw Reunion episode. With stars of the stature of Austin, Hogan, Michaels, and dozens of others making appearances, it could be possible that the segment slots have been already packed, with no room for more.

#3 Will make an appearance: An integral part of Raw history

Back in 2005, John Cena won the WWE title at WrestleMania 21, when he defeated JBL in one of the main events of the night. After a short stint on the blue brand as champion, Cena was drafted to Raw as possibly the biggest pick in WWE Draft history.

For the next several years, Cena remained the cornerstone of Monday Night Raw, being consistently featured in main events and high-profile WrestleMania matches. WWE is dubbing this episode as the biggest reunion in history, and it just wouldn't feel right if someone who headlined the show for around a decade won't be on it at an event of this magnitude.

#2 Won't make an appearance: Cena will be busy filming Fast & Furious 9

Ad

At present, John Cena is busy filming Fast & Furious 9 alongside the likes of Vin Diesel, Jordana Brewster, and Michelle Rodriguez. This could be the biggest reason why Cena might not appear at the upcoming Raw Reunion show.

Hollywood filming schedules are brutal, as evident from The Rock's absence from WWE for around 7 long years. Cena's schedule might not allow him to commit to WWE for even a single appearance at this point in time.

#2 Will make an appearance: A platform to promote his movie

It's no secret that Cena is now a part of the hit franchise "The Fast & The Furious", with its ninth installment coming out next year. While he could be busy filming the same, Cena has a great opportunity to promote his movie in front of a large crowd, plus the millions watching at home by making an appearance at Raw Reunion. A short segment could see him thanking the WWE Universe for their support, and putting in a line about the upcoming movie.

#1 Won't make an appearance: WWE might have other plans

SmackDown Live on FOX

At this point, Cena simply can't commit to WWE for multiple appearances. He appeared on SmackDown Live last year, putting over Becky Lynch. Months later, Cena came back at 'Mania, donning his Dr. of Thugonomics gimmick.

WWE SmackDown Live is all set to move to FOX later this year. What if WWE wants Cena to make an appearance at the first show on FOX, and has booked him for the same?

With Cena's schedule being incredibly tight at the moment, he just can't manage to attend multiple shows, and WWE could possibly have sacrificed the Raw Reunion for a Cena appearance at SmackDown Live's FOX debut. With WWE wanting to turn the move to FOX into a huge affair, Cena being there at the very beginning would help matters a lot.

#1 Will make an appearance: An opportunity to give a push to another rising Superstar

Cena and Lynch

Last year, John Cena came back to WWE on an episode of SmackDown Live and was interrupted by Becky Lynch. Lynch had recently embraced the persona of "The Man" and was a legit crowd favorite.

The two Superstars teamed up and won a Mixed Tag Team Match, after which Lynch threw Cena out of the ring and mocked him with his signature "You can't see me" gesture. This reunion would give WWE an opportunity to give another rising star a rub from one of the all-time greats.
