Roman Reigns is undoubtedly one of the biggest star attractions in the WWE and he has been 'The Face of WWE' for quite some time. Due to negative fan reactions and absurd booking decisions, his run with the WWE Championship and the Universal Championship has always been marred with criticism. However, all this changed when in October 2018, 'The Big Dog' was forced to vacate his Universal Championship after it was revealed that he had leukemia. This tragic real life situation squashed all the negative reactions, and fans and fellow wrestlers all showed their overwhelming support for Roman Reigns.

In February 2019, he made a triumphant comeback to the squared circle with overwhelming crowd support. At WrestleMania 35, he defeated Drew McIntyre in a rather predictable result. During the Superstar Shake-Up, Roman Reigns was drafted to SmackDown Live, with the objective of improving its ratings.

WWE would want to maintain the positive crowd response for Reigns, as he is set to be a star performer for the blue brand. Furthermore, at some point, he would most probably become the WWE Champion.

However, that does not mean a title run in the near future. Considering the current popularity of Kofi Kingston, any superstar who goes on to dethrone Kingston would invariably become one of the most bemoaned figures in the roster. WWE would definitely not want to put someone like Roman Reigns in that position.
