3 reasons Why The Undertaker Vs Sting Should Happen At WrestleMania XXXVI

It's a match that the Pro Wrestling world has craved for years. One that pits two behemoths against each other. And, it's a clash that pits arguably the biggest name in the history of WCW against an icon of the WWE.

The Undertaker Vs Sting has always been a fantasy, but a bout that never has materialized. But, it seems as if this fantasy may possibly turn into a reality.

In fact, when Sting was asked if he would return to the ring for one more time, he said,

"I mean, everyone knows who it would be. Taker, he's the only guy I'd come out of retirement for now. No one else. We could just never get it together to make it happen. When I started talking to WWE he was booked with Brock and then I did the deal with Triple H and he had another feud going on at the time, so it was just one of those things we couldn't make happen.

"But I don't regret it not happening either, I mean I got to face Triple H at my first WrestleMania and then wrestle Seth for the world title, so I didn't do too badly out of that deal. But yeah, now, the only person I'm getting back in the ring for is Taker."

We even heard crow sounds during The Undertaker's entrance at Extreme Rules, reminiscent of the character Sting played in 1997. Social media, too, has been abuzz about the clash between the two titans.

So sometime in the future, this match might actually take place. And if it does, the Pro Wrestling World will finally get what it has been craving for decades.

3. A Match Of A Lifetime

Sting and The Undertaker have managed to defy Father Time.

Imagine Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson in a bout against each other. Or Pele and Lionel Messi playing on opposite sides. The Undertaker Vs Sting is a match of these massive proportions.

The Undertaker has been the cornerstone of the WWE for almost three decades. Sting too, was extremely loyal to the WCW and became the face of the company there. After he made his WWE debut in 2014, fans have been clamoring for this match.

After arriving in WWE in 2014, Sting was booked in a feud with Triple H, and went on to lose to "The Game"' At WrestleMania XXXI. The Undertaker defeated Bray Wyatt in that same event to go 22-1 at WrestleMania.

Still, all is not done yet, as The Undertaker still has some gas left in the tank (as Mark Henry would say), and Sting has expressed his desire to return to the ring and face "The Deadman"

This would be a fantasy come true, a match that pits an icon against icon. And it is sure to make the hair at the back of our necks stand up in excitement.

2. The Aura That Surrounds These Two Men

Pro Wresting is all about how a story is delivered. The ability of a Superstar to seamlessly fit into the story line and his ability to strike a chord with the fans is what makes "sports entertainment" so riveting to watch.

In the last quarter of a century, two of the greatest characters in the history of Pro Wrestling have arguably been The Undertaker and Sting. The ability of these two men to morph, change, and adapt with time and maintain that ethereal aura around them places them on a pedestal that other mortals cannot fathom.

The story line that the WWE can weave around this mega-bout, and the theatrics that they can employ, should take this match into a totally new orbit.

And, when these two legendary Superstars collide, it is bound to create memories that will last a lifetime.

1. Who Better Than ‘The Icon’ to retire a WWE Icon At WrestleMania?

The Undertaker is the greatest Superstar in the history of WrestleMania

Without a shadow of a doubt, The Undertaker is the greatest Superstar in the history of WrestleMania. Out of the 35 editions of WrestleMania, "The Phenom" has been a part of 26 of them. He is also the owner of the greatest Streak (21-0) in the history of Sports Entertainment. Some of the biggest names of the industry, including the likes of Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Batista, John Cena and Randy Orton have fallen before "The Deadman" on the ‘Grandest Stage Of Them All’.

But, the last few years have provided enough hints that age has finally caught up with ‘The DeadMan’. He is no longer the wrestler he once was and it is time for him to walk into the sunset at WrestleMania XXXVI.

And, the man who can retire a Superstar of the stature of The Undertaker needs to be a legend in his own right.

Sting fits the bill perfectly. He is one of the biggest names in the Pro Wrestling world, he has never faced The Undertaker, and his character has been eerily similar to that of ‘The Phenom’.

The Undertaker should ride into the sunset at WrestleMania XXXVI, and it should be Sting, coming out of a retirement of his own, who should retire him.

What do you think? Is Sting the perfect opponent to take The Undertaker on one "Last Ride"? Leave your comments below - we'd love to hear them!
