3 WWE Superstars The Undertaker is friends with, and 2 he probably isn't

The Undertaker is possibly the greatest character in wrestling history.

Debuting at the 1990 Survivor Series as part of the Million Dollar Team, The Deadman was dominant in his debut year, beginning his WrestleMania streak in 1991, and capturing the WWF Championship a year after his debut.

A fixture of WWE for nearly 30 years, The Phenom has seen hundreds of Superstars come and go during his tenure, and has feuded with some of the very best in WWE history.

So it makes sense that being such a staple of WWE, the Demon of Death Valley has made plenty of friends in the wrestling world, which have gone on to become lifelong friends outside of the squared circle, while there have also been some Superstars who got on the Deadman's bad side.

Here are three WWE Superstars The Undertaker is friends with, and two he probably isn't.

#3 Is friends with: JBL

After winning the WWE Championship in 2004, John 'Bradshaw' Layfield found himself thrown in the deep end, feuding with the recently resurrected Undertaker.

Facing off at Summerslam, and later at No Mercy in the first ever 'Last Ride' match, it would seem the two were the fiercest of rivals, with Bradshaw using every method to retain the gold.

The truth is that these two are actually close friends, with JBL even being one of the Deadman's Groomsmen when the Phenom tied the knot with fellow Superstar Michelle McCool.

Appearing in photos together, it was a bizarre sight to see the Deadman in a suit, nevermind the fact that he was hugging the man who had sent him on his last ride in 2004.

#2 Isn't friends with: Brock Lesnar

Debuting in 2002, Brock Lesnar captured the WWE Undisputed Championship at Summerslam that year, and much like JBL, found his first major feud against the Deadman himself.

It made sense, as the company wanted to propel Lesnar as the next big thing, and defeating the Deadman (in Hell in a Cell no less), certainly elevated the young Beast.

But after just two years in the company, Lesnar left, which reportedly infuriated the Deadman, who didn't appreciate his losses to the Beast Incarnate being squandered by Lesnar, in favor of a highly successful career as part of the UFC.

Whilst they seem to have patched things up, with the Undertaker even choosing Lesnar as the one to break his streak, there's still plenty of reason for resentment between the two.

#2 Is friends with: 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin

Over his tenure with the WWE, The Undertaker was able to see the company before, during, and after, the Attitude Era.

And one Superstar he took great interest in was 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin, who the Deadman saw debut in 1996, before reaching highs as one of the company's biggest ever stars during the late 90s and early 2000s.

Feuding multiple times in their careers, the pair developed a friendship based on respect, with Austin even admitting in a WWE documentary how he would attempt to get the Phenom to crack up laughing backstage.

Despite both men being long-time nemeses, it's warming to see that two of the greatest champions of all time were able to respect each other despite both going for the WWF Championship at the same time.

#1 Isn't friends with: Chris Jericho

This may be another case of since being forgiven, but Chris Jericho did not get on well with the Deadman when he started in the WWF.

Debuting in 1999 during a promo by The Rock (which Jericho has admitted he hates, calling it the Jericho Curse), the future Undisputed Champion next set his sights on the Deadman.

Calling The Undertaker boring, Jericho did himself no favors, immediately getting on his bad side, as well as developing major heat backstage, as most still considered him a WCW star, who had publicly insulted a legend of the WWF.

Things do seem to have eased off though, with the pair facing off multiple times in their careers, and Jericho even winning the World Heavyweight Championship from the Deadman in 2010, admittedly thanks to Shawn Michaels.

#1 Is friends with: The Undertaker

No, this isn't a comment about the importance of knowing your own self-worth (though you really should), this is about the Deadman's 1994 Summerslam opponent, himself.

Or to be more accurate, an imposter Undertaker, nicknamed The Underfaker, and was actually the Deadman's good friend, Bryan Lee, who was roughly the same size as the Phenom.

The story went that after Yokozuna had crushed the Undertaker at the 1994 Rumble, Ted DiBiase, who had introduced the Deadman to fans four years prior said he had bought the Phenom's soul, actually bringing out an imposter, much to the fury of the real Deadman and Paul Bearer.

Whilst their match at Summerslam 1994 was nothing to write home about, it was good to see the Deadman use his incredible success with the company to help out one of his friends.
