The New Day member began his dream run at the Grandest Stage of Them All; where he became the WWE Champion. After a lengthy career of 11 years in Vince McMahon's company, Kingston finally managed to grab the most coveted prize of the Blue Brand.

Since the winning the belt, Kingston fought Kevin Owens at Money in the Bank. Subsequently, Kingston faced Dolph Ziggler at Super ShowDown and Stomping Grounds. While those two rivalries weren't intense, Samoa Joe brought the best out of the WWE Champion. Joe and Kingston tussled at Extreme Rules where the latter picked up a victory.

Samoa Joe locked horns with Kofi Kingston at Extreme Rules. The two men delivered a spectacular match at Wells Fargo Center but the Champion overpowered Joe. Considering the two Superstars started the feud a few weeks ago, they could have a rematch at the biggest show of the summer.

In all honesty, Joe has been the best opponent for Kingston after the latter grabbed the WWE Championship. The former US Champion viciously attacked Kingston on the RAW after Stomping Grounds. Following the assault, the title match was confirmed for Extreme Rules.

Though Joe could not get the job done in Philadelphia, he stopped the unbeaten streak of Kofi Kingston on RAW. Following WrestleMania, Kingston was undefeated but was put to sleep by Joe in a Tag Team Match on RAW.

The feud had an impressive build-up as Joe is spectacular on the mic. Considering the dexterity of the two Superstars in the squared circle, they could deliver a great rematch. Since they already met each other in a regular bout, the SummerSlam match could have a new stipulation.

#2 Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns could be an unpopular choice here but he is a titanic name to headline the biggest show of the summer. Reigns teamed up with The Undertaker to fight the team of Drew McIntyre and Shane McMahon at Extreme Rules.

The Big Dog had a lengthy rivalry with Shane McMahon but it probably ended at Extreme Rules. Since Shane has already started a new feud with Kevin Owens, Reigns might need a new opponent at SummerSlam.

While the fans have been vocal about consecutive title opportunities of Reigns, it could be the right time to bring him back in the title picture. The Big Dog won his first Universal Title at SummerSlam last year when he defeated Brock Lesnar. Unfortunately, the title reign didn't last long as he had to relinquish it due to leukemia.

Though Reigns won the Universal Title last year, his last WWE World Title reign was three years ago. The Big Dog could be the right man to stop the incredible momentum of Kingston. Both Reigns and Kingston are exceptional performers and they could tear the house down at SummerSlam. If Kingston manages to secure a victory over Reigns, the former could prove his dominance as the Champion.

Randy Orton made his long-awaited return on SmackDown Live this week. The Viper's last match was at Super ShowDown where he fought Triple H. Following the match in Saudi Arabia, Orton skipped Stomping Grounds and Extreme Rules. Since Orton is back in action, he is likely to have a big match at SummerSlam.

Orton confronted Kofi Kingston on the Blue Brand this week. The Viper mentioned that the gold hasn't been around his waist for a long time and he wants to win the title from Kingston. Following the segment, Orton and Kingston cross paths in a Six-Man Tag Team Match where the Viper pinned the WWE Champion.

Orton certainly made a huge statement by pinning Kofi Kingston this week. Judging by Orton's segment on SmackDown Live, he could go for the WWE Title at SummerSlam. Orton is a classic heel, while Kingston is currently a top babyface of the Blue Brand, so they could deliver an exceptional rivalry.
