The Road to Wrestlemania began at the Royal Rumble last month. Several new feuds have started that could end up at the Grandest Stage of Them All. Wrestlemania 35 is just two months away, and it will be held on 8th April at th MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. In fact, Wrestlemania 29 was also held in the same venue.
In all honesty, WWE had a substandard run last year, as the company struggled to get good ratings. The poor bookings played a major role in the decline of ratings. Considering Wrestlemania is the biggest wrestling carnival of the year, it did not meet the expectation last year. As a matter of fact, debutant Ronda Rousey produced the best match of Wrestlemania 34.
WWE needs to fix the past mistakes at Wrestlemania 35. As it is the biggest event of the year, the storylines should be riveting. Every match should have a proper build up unlike last year. The Undertake and Cena match had a strange build up, and Undertaker squashed Cena in three minutes. Likewise, Braun Strowman and The Bar had poor story development.
Two PPVs are set to take place before the Show of Shows in New Jersey. Since two matches are already confirmed for the show, the storylines will progress for the remaining matches at MetLife Stadium. Here we discuss four mistakes WWE must refrain from committing at Wrestlemania 35.
The United States Championship is one of the prestigious titles of WWE, and many legendary wrestlers have held the belt. R-Truth is the current US champion, and he won the belt last week after pinning Shinsuke Nakamura. However, the prestige of the title has certainly declined in recent years. As a matter of fact, it was defended in the kick-off show of Royal Rumble.
The US title has a huge honor, as it is the second oldest active belt of WWE. Elite superstars like Ric Flair, John Cena, Bret Hart, Sting, Roddy Piper and many more won the title. However, the recent US title storylines have not been impressive. Nakamura's reign was uninteresting last year, and it has become insignificant with bland storylines.
Though the current build-up is not compelling for the US title, WWE can still fix it before Wrestlemania 35. Moreover, the title match needs to be in the main show at MetLife Stadium.
