4 reasons why Roman Reigns is returning to next week's RAW

As we all know, Vince McMahon earlier tweeted that Roman Reigns will return to the next episode of RAW to give us some updates about his health condition. In case you did not know, the Big Dog relinquished his Universal title and took a hiatus from WWE after announcing that he is fighting Leukemia. While we all are looking forward to the return of the Samoan superstar, we still don't know why Reigns is making such a quick return to WWE. After all, he made his announcement only back in September of last year.

Nothing in WWE happens without reason, and in this list, we will take a look at a few reasons why Roman Reigns is returning to WWE.

#4 To reunite the Shield for one last time

We may see the hounds of justice back together for one last time.

As sad as it may sound, we need to comprehend the fact that if Dean Ambrose decides not to renew his contract after Wrestlemania 35, we may not see the hounds of justice together inside a WWE ring for a long time.

There are many ways to reunite the Shield for one last time. However, the most obvious and straightforward way is to have Reigns come to the ring and call out his brothers in arms. Such a segment can be made more memorable if the Shield attacks someone that the crowd despises. They could put someone like Brock Lesnar or Baron Corbin down with a shield triple powerbomb to make the reunion even more memorable (this segment would not involve Roman Reigns to do much physically).

After all, even after the two messed up returns, the Shield is still one of the most loved factions in WWE history, and people would love to see them unite once again before all three of them goes their separate ways.

#3 Future storyline investment

The unofficial team of Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin, and Bobby Lashley put Braun Strowman through a stack of two tables using the Shield's signature move - the Triple Powerbomb.

As seen from the last week on RAW, the squad of Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley, and Drew McIntyre laid waste to Braun Strowman and threw him through a flight of tables. The most important takeaway from that segment was that the trio used the signature Shield powerbomb (aka the Triple powerbomb) to put the Monster among men down for the referee's three-count.

Even the commentators specifically mentioned that the trio used the Shield bomb. Hence WWE might be interested to invest in a storyline once Reigns is cleared to compete inside the ring and may use the upcoming episode of RAW to plant the seeds for a potential storyline in the upcoming episode of RAW. After all, Reigns still has some unfinished business with a few of those individuals involved in this angle.

#2 To pledge his allegiance to Seth Rollins for the Wrestlemania 35 main event

Roman Reigns will be rooting for Seth Rollins at Wrestlemania 35.

Last year, Roman Reigns failed to defeat Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania to win the Universal Champion. Being a workhorse himself, Reigns knows that Brock Lesnar is hurting RAW by keeping the Universal title hostage. Without the Universal title, the RAW ratings have been through a downward spiral. There is a huge void left on the top of the card due to the absence of the top champion of RAW. The void is so vast that WWE has to bring in Smackdown LIVE and NXT superstars to temporarily fill the emptiness.

Thus, Reigns could be making a return to wish all the luck to his Shield brothers for his epic battle against the beast in the main event of Wrestlemania 35. Seth Rollins is the only full-timer on the current roster to technically score a win over Lesnar at Wrestlemania.

#1 To give us a timeframe of his return.

Roman Reigns is battling Leukemia.

As the CEO of WWE Vince McMahon tweeted, the most obvious reason why Roman Reigns is returning is to give us the timeframe of his return. The doctors may have already done the prognosis and could have given Reigns the estimated time of recovery to get in shape for a grand return inside a WWE ring.

However, we also need to consider the worst case scenario. Recovering from Leukemia is not as simple as doing so from a common cold or fever. The treatment could potentially weaken a human body and render it physically unfit. Such a possibility scares me that Reigns' return could be to announce a temporary retirement (hopefully that is not the case).

Anyway, I genuinely hope that Roman Reigns has some good news for us regarding his health and wish him a speedy recovery.
