The 24/7 Championship

4 Reasons why the 24/7 Championship is the best thing in WWE right now

The WWE 24/7 Championship is one of the most unpleasant Championships we've ever seen in wrestling, and the roll-out of the title with Mick Foley wasn't taken very well, but since that point, it's been a revelation for the company.

While it's never going to be taken seriously, or defended in big matches on PPVs, it's been a constant source of fun for the WWE Universe over the past few months, and it looks to be getting better and better.

Unfortunately for WWE, it may be too much fun, because the chase for the title between the likes of Jinder Mahal, Drake Maverick and R-Truth may be overshadowing the serious parts of RAW and Smackdown Live.

So, without further ado, sit back and read along as we look back over the past few months and explain why the 24/7 Championship is the best part of WWE right now.

#4 It's quite a lot of ridiculous fun

WWE has been sub-par over the past year for the most part, but unfortunately, it's not even bad enough to be fun, and the 24/7 Championship has provided some of that in its short lifespan. From constant disguises to hiding places to even changing hands on a plane or even on a golf course, the 24/7 Championship is just flat-out fun, and that helps change the mood of WWE quite a bit.

While it's never going to be a focal point of programming for the company, just how enjoyable it is to see all these things makes a big difference to the fans, and after sitting through another tiresome promo, the title brings energy to everyone. Many people looked down on the title when it was introduced, and while serious fans may not enjoy it as much, it's just plenty of fun for the casual fans and most hardcore fans alike.

#3 It shows off different characters that aren't usually featured

Due to the stacked WWE roster and limited time on RAW and Smackdown Live (plus the ridiculous new Wild Card rule), there are only so many people that can be featured, but this new title provides many more opportunities. People like Drake Maverick and R-Truth are rarely featured at all, but with the new 24/7 Championship, they get opportunities on YouTube and random RAW and Smackdown spots to showcase their talents and charisma.

With the Wild Card rule in place, even fewer stars are being featured, and while no one in the 24/7 title picture is going to get a big PPV main event, they're getting opportunities that they normally wouldn't. It wouldn't surprise anyone if WWE managed to find a way to ruin this, but with people like Truth and Maverick doing their own thing, these characters are finding a way to shine, and it's brilliant for the fans.

#2 Unpredictability

The biggest complaint from WWE fans about the current product is just how lackadaisical everything seems, and the lack of unpredictability, but there's been no such problem regarding this belt. From defending the title on a golf course and hiding under the ring to title changes on a plane, the 24/7 Championship just comes out of nowhere, and fans are overjoyed to see it every time it appears.

With all the travel and the creative people involved with this title, there's no doubt there'll be much more unpredictability to come, and as RAW repeats matches over and over again, fans will continue to gravitate towards the green belt.

While it's not a very serious part of the show, and WWE will never give it too much attention, the 24/7 Championship just continues to amaze and surprise the entire WWE Universe, and it just provides so many more enjoyable opportunities for those involved.

#1 Creativity

Drake Maverick

One of the biggest problems with WWE right now is the lack of creativity with the promos, stories and just everything, but for the guys involved with the 24/7 Championship, there's been no such problem. Drake Maverick has reportedly impressed management for filming the majority of his segments on his own time, and given how much fun he's having, it's becoming even more clear that creative freedom for superstars isn't a bad thing.

While WWE is still obviously having a big hand in the chase for the title and a lot of the segments, the tiny bit of creative freedom that the wrestlers are getting means fun for everyone involved. This may be the case because there's no long, drawn out promo segments or matches to promote, and there are only small segments each show, but that's showing less is more, and overall, this is just helping how much people enjoy the 24/7 Championship.
