Hopefully Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch part ways after Sunday

4 things that must happen at WWE TLC 2019

It might not seem like it, but TLC - the last WWE pay per view of 2019, is coming this Sunday. The card has been haphazardly put together in what's particularly regarded as the most infamous of WWE's lazy months.

Everyone in the company awaits the end of the holiday season so that the build to the Royal Rumble, and ultimately, WrestleMania season can begin. Nevertheless, there are still some notable matches on the card, two of which look promising enough to be a last-minute match of the year candidate.

Even though it takes place in December, TLC is still more important than some people give it credit for, because it ultimately sets the stage for the Royal Rumble. With that in mind, here are four decisions WWE should make in the matches with actual consequences (as opposed to the mere filler matches).

#4 Roman Reigns must decisively defeat Baron Corbin

As always with Baron Corbin feuds, this one has been unwatchable, and the sooner it's over, the better. With Roman Reigns the favored candidate to take on and ultimately dethrone Bray Wyatt at WWE WrestleMania, these constant dog-related segments are doing him no favors.

At TLC 2019, the company needs to rectify the horrible build this match has gotten with a quick and decisive Reigns victory over King Corbin.

It's tricky because we all know what happens when the Big Dog looks like he's being pushed too hard, but there's still a lot of goodwill surrounding him since his return. Moreover, none will shed a tear for Corbin.

Get this match over with quickly so the Big Dog can move on from this feud and focus on The Road to WrestleMania. That's the best decision for both the Superstar and the WWE Universe.

#3 Rusev must defeat Bobby Lashley

This has been one of 2019's worst feuds. Unfortunately, it isn't over yet, because we're getting a Tables Match at TLC. Tables matches are usually haphazard, so I don't have high hopes for this one. Keeping it short would be best for all involved.

However long it is, Rusev also needs to win it. If he doesn't, his humiliation from this monstrosity of a feud will be complete.

Rusev is infamous for being a poorly-utilized talent, as his latent abilities give him far more potential than he's ever been able to show to the fullest. At any rate, he's always been a more interesting character in WWE than Bobby Lashley has.

It wouldn't be out of place, far from it, for Rusev to lose this, but it would be the ultimate humiliation. The only justification would be if he's leaving the company and WWE wants to bury him on the way out.

#2 Aleister Black must defeat Buddy Murphy

This is a tough call to make. Both of these Superstars are great and are tremendous assets for whatever show they're on. This match should easily be a match of the year contender if it's allowed to go on. It should get time over the other aforementioned. But who to win?

The answer would have to be Aleister Black, as his gimmick and personality are unique in WWE. He has the kind of character that could be a main-event attraction if it's given the proper support.

Buddy Murphy, on the other hand, is more of an upper mid-card workhorse, which isn't a slight at all, but when Superstars like him collide with marquee attractions, they're meant to lose.

Much as I hate to favor either one over the other, Black would be the correct winner here, and hopefully, he will use it as a springboard to a big WrestleMania match. Last I could tell, no one is on the radar to challenge Brock Lesnar.

#1 The Kabuki Warriors must retain the Women's Tag Team Championships

It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that Asuka and Kairi Sane have saved the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles from descending into complete irrelevance, as they appeared to be heading after WrestleMania.

However, for no real reason, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch have aligned again, and the threat to the reign of the Kabuki Warriors is very real. In fact, they're the underdogs heading into Sunday.

WWE could certainly be keen to use the titles to build up an alliance between Becky and Charlotte, only to break it up again on the road to WrestleMania so that they can have yet another repetitive encounter few would be enthusiastic about. Unfortunately, that's the likeliest scenario.

For the sake of the titles and the rest of the roster, Asuka needs to repeat her success from last year and retain along with Kairi in the TLC match, but I'm not betting on it.
