4 ways in which WWE can reunite the Shield one last time

The news of the week in WWE is that the Lunatic Fringe Dean Ambrose is not willing to renew his contract once it expires after Wrestlemania 35. The 33-year-old is potentially planning to try his trade in some other corners of the world.

WWE has corroborated to this claim and recently released an article stating that Ambrose would leave the company once his contract is up. While fans are speculating that this non-renewal would probably be an angle leading to Wrestlemania 35, we need to realize that in case if it is not a work, we might have seen the Shield posing together for the last time in a WWE arena.

Thus the fans of one of the greatest WWE factions of all time might be willing to see the three Hounds of Justice pose with their signature fist posture for one last time. In this article, we will be taking a look at five ways WWE could do it.

#4 A normal reunion

Similar to how Evolution reunited in the 1000th episode of Smackdown, or any other reunions, WWE could have the Hounds of Justice stand in the ring as a part of an official one-night meeting. Seth Rollins is flying in the main event, and Reigns is on a break, whereas Ambrose is in limbo, facing a potential risk of getting written out of storylines.

WWE could advertise Reigns' special return for an episode of Raw, to stand with his brothers for one last time, in a regular segment without involving any fighting. Even though that might sound a bit boring, getting something is definitely better than getting nothing. In this case, we could see the Shield together in the ring for one last time.

#3 Thrash Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar is a common enemy to all three of the Shield members

Even in their nuanced dynamics, if there is a common enemy to the Shield, it is Brock Lesnar. Except for the main event of Wrestlemania 31 and Summerslam 2017, none of the matches involving a member of Shield and Brock Lesnar were particularly impressive, and most of the times, the Beast Incarnate went over the younger talents.

Thus, building into the Wrestlemania 35 Universal title match between Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins, WWE could have a segment where all three members of the Shield return and lay waste to the reigning Universal Champion if he bothers to show up.

Such an angle would propel both Rollins' and Ambrose's popularity to a whole new level. Moreover, this beating would help the fans get over the underwhelming reunions the Shield had in the last two years.

In short, such a segment will leave a sweet memory in the minds of every Shield fan forever.

#2 Giving the boot to Dean

Dean Ambrose may have to answer for his actions

A reunion can be either positive or negative. In other promotions, there have been instances where members of a faction laid waste to a leaving member just before he or she left the company. The Bullet Club ganged on Adam Cole and kicked him out just a few days before he departed from Ring Of Honor.

Similarly, WWE could book an angle where Dean Ambrose would be judged for his actions and words by his former best friends. Seth Rollins could always use a mini-feud between now and March, before his feud with Brock Lesnar elevates to a new dimension.

The beauty of such an angle is that Reigns does not even need to be involved in a fight. The big dog can act as the jury and the judge, whereas Rollins can act as the executioner.

#1 Flashback to Wrestlemania 20

WWE could recreate arguably the most beautiful moment of its history

Although WWE may want its fans to forget about it, the final moments of Wrestlemania 20 are one of the, if not the most beautiful moments WWE has ever crafted. The tale of two talents, who had to endure a lot of hardship and challenges finally conquered the top of the professional wrestling industry.

Chris Benoit became the World Heavyweight Champion by defeating Triple H and Shawn Michaels in one of the best Wrestlemania main events of all time, and Eddie Guerrero successfully defended his WWE title against Kurt Angle earlier in the night.

WWE could repeat a similar moment during Wrestlemania 35. After Seth Rollins defeats Brock Lesnar to become the new Universal Champion, both Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose could come to the ring to celebrate the Architect's victory. The babyface and heel dynamics do not even matter in such a beautiful moment. A wrestling fan would never forget such a moment for ages.
