Names like Tye Dillinger and Leo Kruger especially come to mind.

But there’s something different about Matt Riddle, he has that X-Factor that Vince McMahon craves. It’s fair to say WWE is lacking charisma in the main event scene today, Matt Riddle could be the man to finally grab Vince’s brass ring and appeal to a worldwide market. Bro, this guy is going to be a star, it’s just a matter of when not if.

#4 Finn Balor

The inaugural Universal Champion has enjoyed quite a bit of success on the main roster. Despite some saying he hasn’t quite met expectations, Balor has been a main player for WWE since graduating from NXT. And why wouldn’t he, for a man with all his experience and star power, Balor was always going to be a hit. He’s the example that Matt Riddle must aim to emulate. Of course, not just emulate, but also better in terms of main event status.

With their uniquely strong and agile styles of wrestling, Balor and Riddle would undoubtedly provide us with several five-star bouts. Balor has the ability to make anyone good but someone like Riddle doesn’t even need any help, he’s that good. Balor putting over Riddle in his debut feud on the main roster would be huge, but imagine if Riddle also became the first man ever to beat the Demon? Now that’d be a pathway into stardom.

The Samoan is the perfect man to get Matt Riddle over to not just the hardcore fans but the casual viewers too. Recently, in typical Matt Riddle fashion, the 33-year-old made a mockery of Hall of Famer, Goldberg. This was in reaction to the 52-year-old’s match at Super Showdown, which was a disaster with the Icon leaving the match not only concussed, but he also managed to botch several moves within the ring. Matt Riddle refused to hold his tongue with respect to the legend. In an interview with Talksport, Riddle claimed he had never been a fan of Goldberg, further stating he used to find him ‘terrible’ back in his peak WCW years.

The NXT star called out the Beast incarnate for his part-time schedule, further claiming that he wants to retire Lesnar for several reasons. Firstly, he feels Lesnar has been a bully from day one and Matt Riddle doesn’t like bullies. If that weren’t enough, Riddle wants to take Lesnar’s spot as the most dominant force in professional wrestling today.

With Lesnar now on the wrong age of 40, he must now start to give back to the company that has lined his pockets so generously over the years. Putting over Matt Riddle cleanly would be a great start, and this wouldn’t be a forced bout. Riddle in his own right is a former MMA fighter, so he’s as legit and believable as they come.
