4 WWE Superstars Who Could Turn Heel At WrestleMania 35 And 2 That Could Turn Face

After delivering enjoyable editions of Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live this week, WWE is now finally heading to the final chapter of their calendar year, WrestleMania 35.

Having widely recognized as Vince McMahon's stroke of genius, thousands and thousands of wrestling fans from all over the globe will grace the occasion in what will be the 35th visual spectacle in WrestleMania history.

With Brock Lesnar, Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch, Seth Rollins, Kofi Kingston, Batista, Daniel Bryan, Triple H, and Roman Reigns being featured in prominent positions for the event, one can't deny that the show could absolutely bring the house down.

Although the show is expected to be 7 hours long, the company will certainly find a way to keep us all hooked at the edge of our seats till the very last minute of the night.

Judging by how last year's WrestleMania transpired, one can't help but admit that this year's spectacle could follow the same direction, with the creative team pulling off some major surprises throughout the course of the show.

Last year's event saw Shinsuke Nakamura turn his back on the WWE Universe after he failed to get the better off A.J. Styles in a much anticipated yet disappointingly executed match.

Could we see something happen this year? Will any WWE superstar turn heel or face this Sunday? Will there be a double turn? Well, we certainly have 5 superstars in mind who have a reason to turn their backs on the WWE Universe.

#1 Turn heel - Asuka

Can Asuka save herself?

After dropping the gold to Charlotte in an extremely surprising result, legions in the WWE Universe expressed their displeasure on Asuka's situation on social media and criticized how the women's division on the blue brand is being treated.

Whilst the creative team may have not provided an explanation for her not getting another shot at the gold, The Empress of Tomorrow stood tall tonight on the blue brand in what was a preview for the WrestleMania Women's and Men's Battle Royal.

Although Twitter was flooded with fans stating how much respect Asuka deserves, she definitely has a reason to turn heel this Sunday and start afresh.

Turning heel would certainly give her the edge that she had down in NXT and could certainly portray a more ruthless villain in the women's division once the titles are united.

#2 Turn face - Charlotte Flair

The future looks bright

It's undeniable that Charlotte Flair is literally the Roman Reigns of the women's division and her ascension to the very top of the industry only proves that she will be taking center-stage even after we are done with WrestleMania 35.

Now, there is a genuine reason why The Queen could turn face this Sunday. Ronda Rousey's heel turn has already sparked a lot of interest and with Becky entering New Jersey as the ultimate underdog, chances are that the company could ignite a Four Horsewomen angle.

The Rowdy One has already shared some heated confrontations with Sasha Banks in early 2019 and this could be the right time for the company to push the envelope for another major angle.

It's understandable that Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair have a lot of history together and that could come into play this Sunday when they fight in a 'Winner Takes All' match.

Furthermore, Vince McMahon will do everything to protect Ronda Rousey and with that being said, I definitely see The Queen doing the honors for Becky before sharing an emotional moment with her, Sasha Banks, and Bayley to close The Show of Shows.

#3 Turn heel - Xavier Woods and Big E

Are they going all out for Kofi?
Ad

Kofi Kingston's journey to the very top of the industry this year has to be one of the greatest stories Vince McMahon has ever told, if not the greatest.

His feud with 'The New' Daniel Bryan is as riveting and realistic as it gets. Moreover, Vince McMahon's personal involvement in the feud has made it more important for the fans to get behind Kofi and his ultimate dream to hold the WWE Championship.

However, if we closely analyze the entire feud and situation, Vince has dropped multiple hints throughout the course of this rivalry that Xavier Woods and Big E could turn heel this Sunday.

The fact that he coerced the duo to fight multiple tag-teams on the blue brand in order to ensure Kofi's position in the WWE Championship match only suggest that WWE could be planning something heartbreaking this Sunday.

While it's understandable that the company will have a hard time presenting Kingston as the ultimate underdog after he wins the most coveted prize in sports entertainment, booking a heel turn this Sunday could give us all a reason to be behind Kofi.

#4 Turn face - Batista

Will Batista dive deep or will he turn face?
Ad

There's no denying that Batista deserves to be recognized as one of the greatest WWE superstars to ever grace the squared circle.

His current tussle with Triple H will see the light of the day this Sunday in a No Holds Barred Match where The Game will be putting his in-ring career on the line.

I have to admit this that Triple H's career-ending stipulation does bring an intriguing feel to this marquee feud here, but considering that this could very well be Batista's farewell encounter, it seems unlikely that The Animal will be walking out with the victory in this one.

He has stated multiple times that he wants his career to end on his terms and judging by the way WWE has booked this, The Game could very well be ending Batista's career this Sunday.

Now, getting back to why I believe this will result in the former World Champion turning face. Careers that end at WrestleMania tend to have an emotional conclusion and with these two heavyweights having so much history, this would be the right time for The Animal to turn babyface and close the curtain on an incredible career.

#5 Turn heel - Seth Rollins

This might not end well for Rollins

If this week's Monday Night Raw segment between the Universal Champion Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins was anything to take into consideration, then it feels that The Architect could be pulling off some dirty tactics from his book to get the job done.

With the Saudi Arabian show also set to happen in May, it's unlikely that The Beast Incarnate will be dropping the gold at The Grandest Stage of Them All.

Since the WWE Universe has been rooting for Rollins to be their savior and burn the Suplex City to the ground, losing here would certainly derail The Architect's momentum heading into the later stages of 2019.

It's understandable that the company does see Roman Reigns as the top guy on the red brand, Rollins using his dirty tricks to get the job done whilst reminiscing the days of WrestleMania 31 could bring some edge to this averagely booked feud.
