5 Past vs Present clashes we could see on WWE Raw Reunion next week

Mere days ago, WWE made a huge announcement regarding the July 22nd episode of Monday Night Raw. The show is going to emanate from Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, and will feature a long list of WWE legends and Hall of Famers. We will witness the likes of Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Booker T, Shawn Michaels and many more on the special edition of the red brand.

The reason WWE came up with the reunion episode is that apparently, the USA Network wanted it amidst poor ratings. One thing's for sure, the announcement has made fans wait in anticipation for the upcoming episode. We might get to see a bunch of surprising moments on the show, including a couple of confrontations between past and present Superstars. Let's take a look at 5 generation clashes we could see on the episode.

#5 The Fiend and The Boogeyman

Bray Wyatt made his big return to WWE last night, when he attacked an unsuspecting Finn Balor and hit him with a Sister Abigail. It's almost a given that Bray Wyatt will face Finn Balor at the upcoming SummerSlam PPV. The match will most likely see Wyatt squash Balor, since we now know that the latter will be taking time off after The Biggest Party of the Summer.

Wyatt is bound to make appearances over the next few weeks, heading to SummerSlam. A possible scenario for next week's Raw could see him confronting a returning Boogeyman, who was once dubbed as one of the creepiest and sinister beings in all of WWE. The Fiend could make quick work of The Boogeyman, and send a challenge to Balor for SummerSlam.

Although Wyatt has confronted The Boogeyman in the past, The Fiend hasn't, and this would certainly be a segment to behold.

#4 Daniel Bryan and Shawn Michaels

What's worth noting, in this case, is that Shawn Michaels was the mentor of Daniel Bryan when he was still trying to make his mark on the industry. A segment from early 2014 saw John Cena and Randy Orton fight it out in the ring, with a string of champions surrounding them. This led to Bryan putting Michaels down, and this was all we got!

Bryan is donning a completely different persona at the moment. He is a delusional heel who wants to save the planet. A teacher vs student segment would be money here, with Bryan going off on Michaels, talking about how he would have made it even if Michaels wasn't there to train him.

Now that Michaels' retirement has been ruined, there's a slight chance we just might get this dream match in the near future. The reunion episode could be utilized to kick off a short-lived feud between these two.

#3 Becky Lynch and Stone Cold Steve Austin

Ever since Becky Lynch became 'The Man' last year, the WWE Universe has been comparing her with a certain Rattlesnake. One look at Lynch's character is enough to notice the striking similarities between Becky and Austin. Both are anti-heros who like to play the game by their rules, don't give in to their boss' demands, and are lone wolves.

Lynch and Austin have teased a confrontation in the past, and we just might see it happen on the upcoming Raw Reunion episode. It would be an amazing opportunity for Austin to give a rub to Becky, by heaping her with praise on the mic, getting interrupted by a heel, resulting in Becky making quick work of the heel and sharing a beer with Austin. And yes, this certainly shouldn't, and hopefully wouldn't, end with Lynch eating a Stunner, for ones that are hopeful of seeing a sight like this.

#2 R-Truth and Santino Marella

Debuting in 2007, Santino Marella soon turned into one of the biggest comedy attractions in WWE history. For the next several years, Marella was regularly featured in hilarious segments on WWE TV. Now, it seems like the 24/7 Champion R-Truth has taken up that role.

The night could see both of these Superstars trading the 24/7 Title in an amusing bit. A sneaky Santino could surprise Truth with the Cobra in a backstage area, pinning him to win the belt. We could then see Truth trying to locate Marella throughout the night to get back his title, because if he failed, Marella would flee the arena with the belt, never to come back again. By the end of the night, Truth may somehow catch hold of Marella and pin him to win back the title.

A confrontation between these two comedy characters is an opportunity WWE shouldn't pass on.

#1 Kevin Owens and Stone Cold Steve Austin

This is one confrontation many are clamouring to witness. Over the past few weeks, Kevin Owens has turned into a modern-day Steve Austin, and rumors have been suggesting that WWE is, in fact, trying to build Owens as an Austin-like anti-hero character for the modern fans.

Owens even uses the Stunner now, and has connected it on the likes of Shane McMahon and Dolph Ziggler. Hopefully, WWE gives us this clash, with both trash talkers going at it for a few minutes, followed by an interruption that would lead to Austin and Owens teaming up and hitting the distractor with Stunners.

The segment could end with both Superstars sharing a beer. Suddenly, both Austin and Owens would try to hit the other with the Stunner at the exact same time! Upon failing, they both realize how similar they are, smile at each other, and end the segment on a high note.
