Yet another highly entertaining episode of NXT aired this week

5 Points to Note from WWE NXT: Former Impact Wrestling star gets new name, Big challenge

Every week, I write this column to remind you that NXT is by far the best weekly television product that WWE serves us with. This week, I will have to say that under the guidance of Paul Heyman, RAW was the show-stealer.

That said, because RAW and indeed SmackDown Live is made up of individuals who've come up from the NXT system, one can still say that it was a win for NXT. And this does not mean that NXT TV was below-par at all, this week.

In this article, I shall identify 5 points from the show and elaborate on them all, in case you missed the show. If you did catch the show, let me know in the comments below what you did think of the overall proceedings.

Do you think that the Street Profits were called up to RAW far too soon?

#5 Trevor Lee is now Cameron Grimes, Shane Strickland is Isaiah 'Swerve' Scott

I love the NXT Breakout Tournament because it allows for the wealth of talent in the WWE Performance Center to be showcased in a tournament with some actual stakes on the line. Cameron Grimes, whom you may know as Trevor Lee from Impact Wrestling took on Shane Strickland, whom you may know as Killshot from Lucha Underground in a first-round match.

The two men put on a show to remember in a back and forth contest that I thought could have potentially been the best match of the entire night. I was also surprised to see Cameron Grimes pick up the big win considering that he was used as a jobber in Impact Wrestling, at least recently.

I wonder who's going to win the whole thing. And I also wonder who he will end up challenging.

#4 Adam Cole bought pizza from the Gargano restaurant

Adam Cole was in perfect heel mode as he went to the Gargano family restaurant and ordered pizza from Johnny Gargano's father. Mr. Gargano groaned when he saw that Cole had put a picture of himself up on the 'Wall of Fame' where he puts pictures of his son. Cole picked up the pizza and went to a wrestling school for the second part of his mission.

This was a school where Gargano had delivered a motivational speech urging all of the potential superstars to follow their dreams, letting them know that one day they could also become NXT Champion. Cole went to let everyone know that this was not the case at all. He bought pizza for everyone to remind them that their dreams would one day be crushed.

I honestly loved everything about this video package. This was a very Impact Wrestling-style vignette and I think that it did more to further the Cole-Gargano feud than an in-ring angle would.

#3 The Killian Dain vignettes continue to air

We've all seen what Killian Dain can do as a member of SAnitY. But over the last few weeks, we've seen vignettes of Dain reappearing in NXT after his unsuccessful main roster run.

Because Superstars like Aleister Black, Ricochet, and EC3 have been called up and NXT lacks that next big star that could dominate the singles division, Killian Dain could emerge as the next big thing. In fact, I'd say that this new beginning could be akin to Braun Strowman branching out from the Wyatt Family and becoming a star in his own right.

Dain can certainly do the same because he's a far better promo and athlete than Braun Strowman is, in my opinion. In fact, I'm a little surprised that he didn't get over in the main roster, considering that he's a pretty big man.

Oh well, SmackDown Live's loss could certainly be NXT's gain!

#2 Mia Yim laid out a challenge!

I love the fact that Aliyah and Vanessa Borne have formed a very cohesive team called 'The Highers'. They believe that they're a step above the 'Lowers' which is people like you and me. Aliyah has been in developmental for far too long and I think that this could potentially be the gimmick that eventually helps her break out and succeed.

She went up against Mia Yim, who's become a favorite of the NXT Universe. The match was a good one and the suicide dive from Yim on both Aliyah and Borne was pretty cool. What was even cooler is Yim going up to the commentary position and challenging Shayna Baszler following her big win.

Something that made me chuckle is Nigel McGuinness quoting lines from the song 'One Vision' by Queen, and Beth Phoenix thinking that he was reciting poetry. Well, to many around the world, Queen's music is poetry.

#1 Tyler Breeze and Roderick Strong absolutely tear it up

Tyler Breeze seems to be having the time of his life in NXT. I don't know how long he will be allowed to stay in developmental, but whatever the case may be, I don't think he'll get to enjoy this level of freedom in the main roster at all.

Breeze went up against Roderick Strong, who, in my books is one of the best wrestlers in the company and as one would expect, their match was furious. That is, until the Undisputed ERA distracted Breeze, allowing Strong to pick up the big win, granting him much momentum.

Adam Cole has promised the NXT Universe that everyone in the Undisputed ERA will hold gold in 2019. Was this another step towards this high and mighty goal?

One thing is for sure- The Undisputed ERA is one of the coolest things in wrestling at the moment.

What makes Sting special? His first AEW opponent opens up RIGHT HERE.
