5 Possible storylines for Otis after WrestleMania 36

After facing much humiliation due to one Dolph Ziggler, Otis was finally able to get some retribution as he beat The Showoff at WrestleMania 36 last weekend. What's more, he and Mandy Rose ended up as a couple in one of the most feel-good moments of the night.

Throughout this whole feud, Otis has gained a lot of popularity within the WWE Universe and following the win at the Showcase of Immortals, he has a lot of momentum going for him.

Given the amount of reaction that he is evoking from fans worldwide, Otis is likely to be a regular feature on WWE TV in the build-up to the Money in the Bank pay-per-view scheduled to be held on 10th May.

With that in mind, what's next for in line for the Heavy Machinery member? Let us now explore a few storylines that Otis can be a part of in the next few weeks.

#5 Elongated singles feud with Dolph Ziggler

If there's one thing that we've learned over years of seeing Dolph Ziggler in the WWE, it's the fact that he's not an easy customer. A Superstar with an ego to feed, Ziggler doesn't readily admit defeat and keeps coming back for more.

Despite Mandy Rose clearly mentioning it to The Showoff that she was not some trophy to be celebrated, the latter made his feud with Otis about who she's better off with. But now with personal remarks out of the way, this storyline could be about deciding who's the better wrestler.

Ziggler can always complain about the fact that Mandy delivered a low blow to him and that Otis never beat him clean and ask for a rematch. If sanctioned, we could see Ziggler back to his shrewd best, playing mind games and ambushing Otis with sneak attacks. With Money in the Bank coming up next month, we could also see a stipulation match between the two to settle things once and for all.

#4 A run for the SmackDown tag titles

Following the hullabaloo involving Ziggler and an extended singles run, it's probably time for Otis to concentrate on business along with his Blue Collar buddy Tucker Knight. Heavy Machinery have been around on RAW and now SmackDown for more than a year but the tag team is yet to get its hands on any gold so far. Even Tucker has mentioned that the only thing left for them to do is to win the SmackDown tag titles.

John Morrison defended his and The Miz's SmackDown Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania against The Usos and The New Day. What was supposed to be a triple threat tag team ladder match ended up having only one member from each team after The Miz backed out due to health concerns.

While there are still question marks over the availability of The A-Lister, there's no doubt that Miz & Morrison need new challengers for their titles and Heavy Machinery could do the honors. This would even keep the heel vs face dynamic in place. With Mandy Rose also on their side now, Otis & Tucker could spring a surprise!

#3 A feud with King Corbin

Given how over Otis is with the crowd right now, there's a good chance his singles run may continue further. While that would once again leave Tucker out cold, it must be noted that he has not been able to impress the WWE Universe as much as his partner.

Eventually, we might see Otis being billed as a title challenger in the mid-card but before that happens, he might need some more victories in his belt. And there is no better competition for a top face than one of the biggest heels in the company in King Corbin.

In what was a rather underwhelming feud, Corbin is reeling from a loss to Elias on night one of WrestleMania 36. However, he's still one of the best performers in the business and one of the most booed Superstars in WWE.

Vince McMahon and co. will be in a win-win situation irrespective of how this storyline culminates. If Otis gets the win, he'll have more fans cheering for him. And if Corbin gets the upper hand, he'll be able to gain back his reputation while Otis could go back to tag team action again.

#2 Intercontinental title run

Daniel Bryan challenged Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 36. However, both he and his partner Drew Gulak suffered losses at the Grandest Stage of Them All. Bryan's future is up in the air too as he's given up on being a full-time Superstar and without him, The Artist Collective gains a numerical advantage on Gulak.

We may possibly be seeing new contenders for the IC title and that could very well be Otis. With Tucker and Mandy Rose in his corner, he could minimize outside interference from the likes of Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura. This could also result in a classic back-and-forth with Zayn disrespecting and mocking Otis while acting like a cowardly heel and escaping whenever the latter tries to ambush him.

Additionally, the identity of SmackDown's mystery hacker could also be revealed and he could side with Otis to give him the advantage. It would be fun to see how Sami Zayn responds with the numbers not in his favor too.

#1 Mixed tag team feud against Dolph Ziggler and Sonya Deville

We learned on the last SmackDown before WrestleMania that Sonya Deville was the one who sent that text to Otis and in turn betrayed her best friend Mandy Rose. However, Deville is yet to explain her actions and when she does, things could heat up between the former Fire and Desire teammates.

With the rivalry between Otis and Ziggler still fresh, the whole situation could boil over with the men exchanging blows too. Thus, we could very well see a mixed tag team match set up where all dues would be settled one last time. Mandy and Otis also mentioned during an Instagram Live session that they should take on Deville and Ziggler at Money in the Bank.

Not only would this signal the official split of Fire and Desire, but we could also see how they fare as individual competitors. Additionally, Mandy and Otis are really over as a couple right now and giving them a platform to fight together would really have the fans invested in this feud.
