5 possible WWE Raw scenarios: Roman Reigns arrested again?

The latest episode of WWE Raw will take place at the U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Monday, May 6.

One of the biggest stories heading into the show involves Roman Reigns, who has defied orders from WWE management and promised to kick off Monday’s show despite his status as a member of the SmackDown Live roster.

With the Money in the Bank pay-per-view just two weeks away, we can also expect all four Raw Superstars from the men’s ladder match (Braun Strowman, Ricochet, Drew McIntyre, and Baron Corbin), as well as the four Superstars from the women’s ladder match (Alexa Bliss, Dana Brooke, Naomi, and Natalya), to appear on the show.

Elsewhere, Seth Rollins and AJ Styles are scheduled to feature following their Universal Championship contract signing, while WWE.com is teasing that The Revival could face further humiliation after The Usos caught Dash Wilder shaving Scott Dawson’s back last week.

Given that the SmackDown Live roster no longer has a live event this Monday, it is possible that Reigns could be joined by more Superstars from the blue brand’s roster on Raw, which could mean double trouble for Becky Lynch if Charlotte Flair appears on the episode, as well as Lacey Evans.

In this article, let’s take a look at five possible scenarios and storyline developments that we could see during the show.

#5 Alexa Bliss defeats Dana Brooke

Alexa Bliss is essentially an unofficial authority figure these days, so last week she was given the task of announcing Raw’s representatives in the upcoming Money in the Bank ladder matches.

As is usually the case with the ‘Moment of Bliss’ host, she made the women’s announcement all about herself, as she confirmed Dana Brooke, Naomi, and Natalya as MITB participants before revealing that she will be the fourth and final Superstar in the match.

Over the weekend, Brooke took to Twitter to aim a dig at the five-time women’s champion, claiming that she must have created WWE’s graphic for the upcoming pay-per-view because, once again, she is the Superstar who has been given the spotlight in the middle of the picture.

Bliss, who was defeated last week by Naomi after having troubles with her shoelaces, responded by telling Brooke that she should focus more on becoming a better wrestler.

A match between these two has not yet been announced, but it is safe to assume that this is heading towards a one-on-one encounter, and in all likelihood, a win for Bliss.

#4 Rey Mysterio becomes the US title #1 contender

Samoa Joe vs. Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania 35 had all the makings of a quality match, but Mysterio suffered an unfortunate ankle injury just six days before the event, which meant he was not at 100 percent for WWE’s biggest show of the year.

The United States Championship match still went ahead despite Mysterio’s injury, and Joe easily retained the title by making his opponent pass out in an encounter which lasted just 60 seconds.

Since the forgettable ‘Mania match, Mysterio has fully recovered from his setback and he even defeated Joe on last week’s episode of Raw. Following the match, he posed on top of his son’s shoulders on stage, before signaling that he wants a title opportunity.

With Money in the Bank just around the corner, this match will almost certainly be added to the pay-per-view in the not-too-distant future.

#3 Charlotte Flair makes her presence known

Roman Reigns is the only SmackDown Live Superstar to announce an intention to appear on this week’s episode of Raw. However, given that the blue brand’s Monday live event will no longer go ahead, there is a very real possibility that we could see more people from Tuesday nights show up on Raw.

From a storyline perspective, it makes sense that Reigns has unfinished business to settle this Monday – he is involved in a rivalry with the McMahons, who appear on both brands – but there is also just as much logic in Charlotte Flair making an appearance on the red brand.

“The Queen” is currently preparing to face Becky Lynch in a SmackDown Women’s Championship match at Money in the Bank. Like the McMahons, Lynch is allowed to appear on both Raw and SmackDown Live right now due to her double title victory at WrestleMania 35, so Flair knows where her rival is if she wants to gain the upper hand before their PPV match.

#2 AJ Styles completes his heel turn

One of the biggest takeaways from last week’s Raw came during the final segment, which saw AJ Styles stand tall after sending Seth Rollins through a table in the middle of the ring with a Phenomenal Forearm.

When Styles defeated Baron Corbin to become the #1 contender for the Universal Championship, it looked as though WWE was set to build towards a babyface vs. babyface match between two of the company’s most popular male Superstars at Money in the Bank.

However, while Rollins did his usual shtick of playing up to the crowd during last week’s contract signing, “The Phenomenal One” showed a more aggressive side to his character during his promo, prompting the fans to boo him.

Following the show, it was unclear whether Styles had fully turned heel – for what it’s worth, WWE’s website is now describing him as “brash”, “cocky”, and “ruthless” – but we should know once and for all after this week’s episode if he will be making a permanent return to his bad-guy ways.

#1 Roman Reigns gets arrested

Since the villainous Mr. McMahon character returned to WWE television in December 2018, he has handed out more punishments to the company’s top babyfaces than at any stage in the last decade.

Becky Lynch was the first victim of the WWE owner’s evil antics, as she was arrested, suspended, and replaced by Charlotte Flair in the WrestleMania 35 main event, and then he turned his attention to Kofi Kingston by making him, as well as The New Day, compete in gauntlet matches to earn another WWE Championship opportunity.

With Lynch and Kingston unsuccessfully dealt with, both ended up winning titles at ‘Mania – it is inevitable that McMahon will attempt to do everything he can to make sure that his next target, Roman Reigns, is suitably punished after he disobeyed orders and announced that he will kick off this week’s Raw.

In typical WWE fashion, a scenario where officers march down to the ring to arrest the trespassing Reigns looks like a strong possibility.
