5 Potential Finishes for the Women's Royal Rumble match - Injured WWE Superstar returns, Massive swerve

Can you believe that we are only days removed from the Royal Rumble pay-per-view? This is an event that people look forward to every year, because of the sheer amount of unpredictability it promises.

Honestly, this year, the women's Royal Rumble match seems a lot more exciting than the men's match, owing to the fact that we know most of the field in the men's match already. With regard to the women, we have no clue as to who the entrants will be, and this keeps things very exciting indeed.

It's almost a certainty that Roman Reigns will win the men's Royal Rumble match but in the case of the women, it's significantly harder to predict who will win the contest. Could we see a returning WWE Superstar pick up a big win?

There's a big unresolved storyline in WWE and it concerns Nia Jax who's currently out, nursing an injury. Jax and Becky Lynch have unresolved business with one another and honestly speaking, this is a feud that is worthy of a WrestleMania spot, especially if you consider that the most iconic moment in modern wrestling since CM Punk's pipebomb happened as a result of a botch from Nia Jax.

The image of Becky Lynch with blood streaming down her face has become iconic and if Nia Jax does return for a spell and challenges Becky Lynch, it would certainly make many headlines indeed. The actual match may or may not be as good as a match between Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch, or Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch, but there's a story in place already and WWE would be crazy to not capitalize on it.

#4 Sasha Banks wins the Royal Rumble match and challenges her best friend

Lacey Evans may have started out as a heel but now, she has a connection with the WWE Universe that very few can match. She is the ultimate babyface owing to her background, coming from the armed forces and being a real-life inspiration for millions of girls worldwide.

And yet, I don't think that she will be able to dethrone Bayley from her perch and become the next SmackDown Women's Champion, especially if you consider the fact that it's only been a blink of an eye that Bayley has held the title as a heel. Lacey Evans will fall short against Bayley and I do believe that Sasha Banks may be instrumental in now allowing the title change.

But then, the ultimate swerve could happen where Sasha Banks goes on to win the Royal Rumble and challenge her best friend to a match at WrestleMania. This is the match that put the women's division on the map when it happened in NXT, and I think it deserves a stage like WrestleMania 36.

#3 Shayna Baszler wins the Royal Rumble, challenges Becky Lynch

I think that Becky Lynch vs. Asuka can only go one way, unfortunately. Even though Asuka has been portrayed as the one hurdle that Becky Lynch cannot conquer, I think Becky Lynch makes short work of Asuka at the Royal Rumble.

And then, in a sense, she would have conquered everyone on RAW and SmackDown and will want a brand new challenger for her Championship. Who better than Shayna Baszler from NXT to step up to the plate and win the whole Royal Rumble match, to challenge The Man for WrestleMania?

Shayna Baszler is perfect for this particular role if you consider the fact that she can kill time on NXT until WrestleMania, so we don't have to see the two women slug it out until the big show. Or maybe she could show up on RAW a few weeks before WrestleMania for a contract signing segment with The Man.

Baszler has been in NXT for so long that this is certainly a big step up for her.

Or, yet another possibility that could arise is that Asuka keeps her dominance over Becky Lynch intact by defeating her in their clash to become the RAW Women's Champion by picking up a big win. And this forces Becky Lynch to enter the Women's Royal Rumble match and win the whole thing to challenge Asuka at WrestleMania. Becky Lynch is obviously very passionate about the story with Asuka and may do everything in her power to have it continue for a very long time.

This would be a big swerve that few would have seen coming and for the match to play out in such a manner wouldn't be the worst thing. A lot of WWE Superstars complain that they don't get enough time to tell a story but if this is the way WWE decides to go, it would be Becky Lynch vs. Asuka 2-belts!

And I can't see too many people complaining if Becky Lynch wins the Royal Rumble match.

#1 Ronda Rousey returns to win the Royal Rumble

Because WWE will want to create history again and have a women's match main-event WrestleMania for the second year in a row, I think that they will want all the star power that they can get to achieve their goal. And for the same reason, they may decide to bring Ronda Rousey back to win the Royal Rumble and challenge Becky Lynch at WWE WrestleMania 36.

I would say that a match between Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch would usually be enough to warrant a WrestleMania main event but we've just seen it happen so many times that it has lost a lot of its appeal by now. But a singles match between Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey is still big news and a lot of people were upset last year when Charlotte Flair was added to the mix because most fans wanted a one-on-one contest!

Is it fair to the full-time roster to have Ronda Rousey win the whole thing upon her big return? Maybe not.

Yet, it's impossible to deny that she's a big draw.
