5 Reasons why Bray Wyatt's puppets have been secretly appearing on WWE RAW & SmackDown

So, we haven't seen any episodes of the Firefly Fun House for some time. Neither is there an update on when Bray Wyatt will debut the brand new avatar on WWE television again.

What we do know for sure is that Bray Wyatt's puppets- Mercy The Buzzard, Abby the Witch, Huskus the Pig, and Rambling Rabbit have been making strange cameos on the show. They have been popping up when you least expect them to, seemingly stalking the members of the roster.

Why are the puppets showing up when Bray Wyatt himself is not? Let me try and answer this question through this very article.

#5 The episodes of the Firefly Fun House have come to an end

At the end of the last episode of the Firefly Fun House, Bray Wyatt embraces the dark side of his persona as 'The Fiend' and just seems to disappear. It was clear at that point that the show had pretty much run its course. As entertaining as the multi-week run was, it was clear that the whole story had been told in its entirety from the start to the finish.

Bray Wyatt also indicated through his Twitter riddle that there were only a certain number of episodes in the series. Now that the show is done and his debut is in the future, how does WWE keep the audience engaged? How do they make the WWE Universe remember that Bray Wyatt is still a part of the roster without showing him on screen?

Having the puppets show up when you least expect them is a great way to do so, I believe. It's just a question of how long this gimmick will keep happening now.

#4 Subtly putting the entire roster on notice

There are multiple Superstars who've had puppets from the Firefly Fun House appear during their backstage segments. The Miz has been stalked twice, Kofi Kingston once, Daniel Bryan once and Carmella once too. It may be Bray Wyatt's way of telling the WWE roster to just 'let him in'.

There's a moment from 'Fear the Walking Dead', the crux of which is that the most dangerous people don't have to say that they are dangerous to prove that they are. This is precisely what is happening with Bray Wyatt and his puppets. The message is loud and clear and is a hundred times more effective than the traditional professional wrestling/sports entertainment promo, in my opinion.

It will be interesting to see who the next victim of the Firefly Fun House is. Expect yet another cameo to take place on WWE SmackDown Live.

#3 It becomes a great social media talking point

Keeping with the theme of quoting TV shows, to paraphrase a moment from Westworld, people don't return to something for the obvious and the garish. The return for the details and the subtleties.

When you have someone who hasn't wrestled in months become a bigger social media buzzword than your active Champions, then you know that you are on to something.

In a lot of ways, the Firefly Fun House promos are the best vignettes that WWE has made in some time, far better than what they're doing with Aleister Black and definitely miles better than what they did with Emmalina.

You often see AEW fans hijack posts by WWE, and hence, the company needs a lot of goodwill on social media. Bray Wyatt is beloved by one and all and is bringing this goodwill to the online space for his company.

#2 Waiting for a bigger stage for the perfect debut

In the latest WWE NEWS it is clear that there will be a paradigm shift when it comes to WWE programming with Paul Heyman in charge of things. We're yet to see what Eric Bischoff brings to the table, but his track record is impressive enough to expect the best. But the fact remains that while Wyatt could always debut on the weekly television show, his debut should be held off until the next pay-per-view.

In fact, even Extreme Rules doesn't seem like a big enough stage to bring Wyatt back to action. Ideally, he should be returning around SummerSlam. Maybe shoot a brand new set of vignettes until his return?

In any case, the puppets exist to keep us satisfied and whet our Bray Wyatt appetite until he's primed and ready to make his big return. I do hope that his return is on a stage worthy of the hype.

#1 Indication that Wyatt is in for the biggest push of his career

Somehow, WWE has missed out on the goldmine that they have in Bray Wyatt, time after time after time. He is one individual who should have been primed to be the next Undertaker, but somehow WWE has never booked him to be the star that he should have been.

We can look at his run as WWE Champion and how it came to an end after the stinker at WrestleMania against Randy Orton. We can also look at how much momentum he lost after the House of Horrors match that received much hate on social media.

This time, we know that Vince McMahon is personally invested in this storyline to the extent where he's given Wyatt complete freedom over the entire exercise. And this is a sign that Wyatt is in line for a big push.

The puppets are a sign that WWE wants to tell a long-term story with Wyatt, over the coming weeks.
