5 reasons why Roman Reigns was not on RAW after WrestleMania 35

Roman Reigns was not a part of Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania and it has left the fans stunned. The 'Big Dog' has been the big name on RAW for a long time now and the fans are used to seeing him week in and week out, apart from the time he took a break.

Reigns did make an appearance after the show went off air. He was in the ring after Seth Rollins asked him to come out and help him say goodbye to Dean Ambrose. The Shield had a moment before they walked backstage, one last time.

We take a look at 5 possible reasons why Roman Reigns was not on Monday Night Raw:

#5 Day off after WrestleMania

Roman Reigns has just come back from his treatment and it was way sooner than anyone expected. The former WWE Universal Champion was expected to be out for over a year but returned to the ring in just 5 months.

While he seems to be fully fit now, he might still not be a condition to work every single day. WWE are making sure that they do not rush him into the normal schedule just yet as they have a lot riding on Reigns.

Vince McMahon might be someone who will put wrestlers through anything possible to get the fans talking, but that does not comply when the athlete's health is at stake. The chairman is someone who loves Reigns and knows that The Shield member can be the top face for years to come.

So, Reigns missing RAW after WrestleMania might have just been a day off for him and just to make sure that he recovers completely from his match against Drew McIntyre at the show of all shows.

What next for Roman Reigns?

Roman Reigns had a storyline with Drew McIntyre heading into WrestleMania and that is over. Now, it's time for the Big Dog to focus on his next opponent and nobody knows who that is.

WWE Creative might just be planning things out for Reigns and that might be a reason why he was kept off Raw. The plans for his next battle might still be in the working and they might have not got the final nod from Vince McMahon as well.

This isn't the first time WWE has done such a thing. Bray Wyatt has been off TV for a long time now despite making a comeback before TLC last year. He's still not on WWE TV as the creative have just not got a storyline in place for him.

That might just be the case with Reigns as well, but it won't be long before he's back in that ring.

#3 Next opponent is still caught in his previous storyline

Baron Corbin might be Reigns' next opponent

According to reports, Baron Corbin is going to be Roman Reigns' next opponent. The former RAW GM-elect has a lot of heat and WWE are going to try and use it to get the fans all behind Reigns again.

Corbin was on Monday Night Raw and still caught in his previous storyline with Kurt Angle. The WWE Hall of Famer might have lost at WrestleMania, but he came out on RAW to with Corbin luck...bad luck.

It is going to be interesting to see how WWE get to the point where Reigns and Corbin come face to face but one thing is for sure, the two are capable of delivering a good match. Next week might be the first time we get to see the two in action against each other and we can't wait!

#2 Keeping Reigns away from the negative reaction

Roman Reigns defeated Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania

Roman Reigns beating Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania was not something that went down well with the WWE Universe. The Big Dog winning clean was not what they wanted to see as McIntyre was being built as the biggest heel in the company.

All that push for McIntyre came crashing on Sunday as Reigns defeated him and a section of the WWE Universe booed him after the match. The crowd is Brooklyn is a tough one to deal with it and it would have been hard WWE to book Regins as a face again who gets booed a lot.

To ensure that he is away from the crown and back only when he's in the ring with someone who's got real heat (i.e, Baron Corbin) from the WWE Universe, WWE might have kept him off the script.

#1 Moving to SmackDown Live?

Is
Reigns off to the Blue Brand?
Ad

The most unlikely scenario right now would be Roman Reigns moving to SmackDown Live. The Blue brand have Kofi Kingston as their champion right now and Vince McMahon still sees him as a B+ player. So what can the chairman do to make things right? Get Reigns to Tuesday night.

Moreover, the scenario might be something FOX are backing too. The show is moving to FOX Sports in October and they need someone to pull the crowd. Rumors were that Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey were their top picks but with for former UFC stars likely to take a break from WWE after WrestleMania, Reigns might be the one.

Two big gaps filled by one wrestler – Roman Reigns. WWE Creative might have just decided to go ahead with it and while it still looks unlikely to happen, this might just be the case soon.
